Something I think gets lost in the debate over ACA enhanced premium tax credits: 65% of ACA marketplace enrollees have incomes under 200% of the poverty level ($31,300 for a single person). These are folks who make too much for Medicaid but don't have access to employer coverage.

17 years ago today, my friends and I were watching as Obama got elected, sobbing and chain-smoking cigarettes, waxing poetic about the first Black president.
In hindsight, it is a privilege to have believed in something so completely. I’ll never fault the person I was who believed in hope & change.

The depth of the shame of a country this wealthy and abundant allowing its people to go hungry is impossible to measure. The fact that a handful of people could fix this by paying their fair share of taxes while still remaining obscenely wealthy makes it even worse.
