They better have because some were deliberately making Mario’s job harder by keeping shines to themselves even though they were important for their Isles to keep them from going pitch black.
At least the toads who had stars in SM64 gave those to him immediately, the Pinatas were just being cunts.

Two well-known voice clips from Super Mario Sunshine are Mario saying "Aren't I done yet?!" and "There's more?!" in an exasperated way, long presumed unused. However, there is actually a way to hear them in-game, as they have a chance to play when he enters a level at low health.

SUPERBATOBER 11: COZY -- Ah! A nice and lazy, rainy weekend. Good for hanging out on a couch, a purring cat to your right, a cup of tea to your left, and a good book resting in your blanket wrapped lap. That's how Batgirl is spending it! I wonder if Supergirl, half on the floor completely passed out, minds that her friend is taking up half the couch to do so. Judging by her snoring, probably not.

Those games definitely could have benefited from plenty of QoL features that were added later in the series like quest markers, maps for dungeons, an english dub, and a more refined gameplay which FC OG kinda suffers as a first game syndrome where Estelle is practically useless during combat.

And not Sky, it literally was my best option when Sky was not one.
Sure you could argue they could have just re-released the OGs on modern consoles, but a re-release of the OGs isn’t something you can easily convince when you add PC into the mix (just look at Shadow Generations) and also

Players getting the wrong impressions on Estelle.
3) The remake is also useful for players who want to get into the series but aren’t PC gamers, the Sky trilogy has notoriously never left PC worldwide even in Japan if you didn’t have a PS3 you were screwed. That’s why I started with Cold Steel

2) In regards to certain lines for Estelle I think they were changed to not make her come off as too rude, like the « fat jerk » line or her reaction to Olivier being bi being more of a surprise here than in the OG where she straight up was angry. I feel they just changed those to not have

The script.
Cold Steel 3 & 4’s localisation came out a lot better even if some minor issues still pop up (and in one case, misgendering a character though I can’t really complain on that since said character’s gender wouldn’t be confirmed until 2 years after CS3’s localisation).

To give some comments on it.
1) Yes NISA did screw up quite a lot Ys 8’s localisation at launch such as lines that make no sense or change of names that makes certain lines hilarious OoC, so much so that they had to recall the VAs to redo lines when they were fixing
