Jeffrey Archer and Michelle Mone like this
Understand Tories won't create or back a bill to remove Mandelson's peerage. There is unease among politicians in Westminster about the precedent of a government using its large majority to go after individuals, no matter how egregious. But mechanisms should still be there to expel him.

How is it that a church warden behind an interior design firm originally incorporated in the BVIs & tied to a Kazakh billionaire can make a £200,000 donation to Reform UK?

Source of funds not disclosed.

Farage has questions to answer.

The Electoral Commission must investigate.

The man whose firm made the donations will not discuss where the money came from, nor his ties to wealthy Farage allies who may not hold citizenship

From the Reform Council that has just spent £600,000 on eight free parking spaces for senior councillors
*shocked face*

The quotes are brilliant:

Yusuf pinpointed Kent, saying that government officials’ “snouts have been in the trough for too long”

But, Chamberlain said there “just weren’t big cuts to make, because services had been hacked away for years and years”

It's rare to see how lobbyists operate. But the Epstein-Mandelson correspondence shows us what happens all the time: plutocrats and government ministers conspiring against the public interest. This is why all lobbying should be in the public domain, but despite Labour and Con promises, it's not. 🧵
