My resolution not to even click on Substack links has really made a different. I spend a lot less time reading things others have quote-posted, and so far I don't feel like I've really missed much. The world is FULL of news and opinions, and many of them are from people who refuse to support Nazis.

You've been kidnapped. The characters from the last TV show you watched are trying to rescue you. Who's coming to save you?

Happy release day to one of my favorite contemporary romance authors!! It's taking ALL my resolve not to spend the day reading this; I make no promises about tonight. Baked goods and second chances? That's PERFECT.
SECOND CHANCE ROMANCE is warm, cozy, & out today. I hope you love it! 💗

The story: A cranky baker's erroneous obituary brings the woman who got away back into his life--& now he needs to convince her to stay.
The heat level: steamy!
The baked goods: plentiful!

I believe I have reconnected the dryer vent. I have cleaned out everything that was behind the washer & dryer -- the cats have been BUSY back there, apparently -- and put them back in place. I scratched the flooring and cracked the transition strip, but I think I can use the dryer again.

Went to the grocery store this afternoon and dropped $107 on three bags of groceries. No booze, no meat. Veggies, bread, cheese, mostly. Ingredients, not ready-to-eat foods. I am glad I'm no longer trying to feed a family of 6 on 1.5 teacher salaries.

Since February, according to my latest analysis, almost 600,000 Black women have been economically sidelined. The November 20, 2025, Jobs Report makes clear this isn’t a blip. It’s a structural crisis. That is not a recovery. It is a redistribution of opportunity.

Ouch. I feel seen, and not completely in a good way....
YOU COME FOR ME LIKE THIS ON MY OWN FEED?!? *attempts to close cupboard over mountain of rustic pottery*
Twitter accounts are based in Russia. BlueSky accounts are based in homes with, frankly, too many books, plants, obsolete cables, and pieces of rustic pottery, that could do with a bit of a tidying up, to be honest.

Today I learned that in Scotland and several cities in the USA, there are snow plows named Clearapathra. Suddenly the world is a little bit better.

We’ve arrived at the designated venue and there is no one here. Trying to figure out what’s up. I do not want to have to eat 30 deviled eggs.
November 23, 2025 at 12:10 AM
I made 30 deviled eggs for partner's beer club Friendsgiving. Also volunteered to drive him and a friend, so that they can drink ALL THE BEER. It's better than cleaning the house, although that still needs to happen, I guess.

This. Is. F***ing. Terrifying!

Please read the entire article. This is so much worse than the headlines you've seen. Every US resident is being tracked by this.

Border Patrol is monitoring US drivers and detaining those with 'suspicious' travel patterns
The U.S. Border Patrol is monitoring millions of American drivers nationwide in a secretive program to identify and detain people whose travel patterns it deems suspicious.

Listen, I spent years telling you all that Substack was evil. *Now* do you believe me?

Spent some time this week helping a friend bottle her homemade wine, and I got to spend some time with her beautiful chickens! I was "paid" in wine and fresh eggs. I will forever think of @isobelcarr.com when I hang out with chickens. Sadly, I am not allowed to keep them where we live, or I would.

Ok Bluesky, let’s give this a go: I found this postcard in the back of a photo frame I bought at a London thrift shop.

It’s an unsent postcard from a woman called Linda to her parents. The front shows the Kremlin in Moscow and the stamp says 1984 (!).

I’d love to return it to Linda - can you help?

Socialism is what they called public power.

Socialism is what they called social security.

Socialism is what they called the growth of free and independent labor organizations.

Socialism is their name for almost anything that helps all the people.

Just go to the damn official claims site (which currently seems to be down? crap) and do the search and put in your claim.

Nothing will be sorted out for months and months, but authors need to make their claims—your publishers cannot do it for you!

I bought this book to help our grandbug navigate his food aversions. Recommended if you have a “picky eater.” It is a very positive and affirming approach.
I’m an Autistic classically trained chef and I wrote a food aversion acceptance cookbook and guide titled COLOR TASTE TEXTURE, that’s all about finding out what works for specific sensory needs and how to customize food for them. It’s useful for all ages, no cooking experience necessary.
Color Taste Texture by Matthew Broberg-Moffitt: 9780593538593 | PenguinRandomHouse.com: Books
An accessible family cookbook that offers solutions rather than tricks to empower the food-averse, autistic, and picky eater, with 46 recipes. This much-needed cookbook combines tips and techniques.....

Consequences are not cancel culture. They're just a new concept for parts of society, who have never actually had to deal with them before.
When the papers start whining about “cancel culture” again, remember that these men are stepping down 1) voluntarily, and 2) because their jobs have no real impact on their wealth and power, and 3) BECAUSE OF THE RAPING.

Our trans kin aren't going anywhere. There will always be more; you cannot harass a facet of humanity out of existence. So if we could be kinder to the ones who are here now, I would really appreciate it.

Be nice to my friends. And to the ones who aren't my friends. Please.
