Most of these women don’t represent a danger to society and so we should be looking at other options. We still somehow believe that prison is a place of rehabilitation where bad people go in and come out good. We’re seeing that vulnerable and marginalised people go in and come out more traumatised.

I need to make these. Or rather, I need to learn how to make the classic deviled egg.

(My go-to recipe uses Green Goddess salad dressing instead of mayonnaise and mustard. Hubby prefers classic deviled eggs, though.)

We have a plethora of rescue strays, so I build cat houses for them. Here is one I built this year from a Playskool cabin found on Marketplace...everything is sealed from the elements. Added windows a solid door with cat flap, cushions and elevated beds inside....and a porch. They love it.

The Trumpetfish is such a ridiculous looking creature, they always make me smile. They are masters of color change as well, shading from brown, reddish, orange, and bright yellow. They often drift head-down like this, especially when hanging out in clumps of soft coral. 🦑 #scuba #diving #oceans

We need to keep talking about the situation in Bernalillo County MDC, where ALL paper books--including personal possessions--were taken away from incarcerated people earlier this year. The proposed replacement is a tablet with extremely limited book options.

In February of 2025, 15 yr old Mohammed Ibrahim was dragged out of his bed at 4am, blindfolded, and wrongfully detained by Israeli forces. He was accused of “throwing stones” in his village. Mohammed is a dual U.S.-Palestinian citizen, and he has spent the last 9 months in Israeli military prison.
