2/4And I say this as someone who made the switch (moving from OS X Mavericks to Ubuntu) in the past, and then was forced by work and school stuff to switch to Windows because there were no reliable workarounds for what I needed to do. And that situation hasn't changed much since moving on from GIS.

THIS. So much the world's workflows and apps are Windows based. There's no "easy switch". There isn't even an easy switch to Apple's macOS for a lot of things. Moving into the Linux environment isn't a casual decision, and yeah, casually tossing out "switch to Linux" isn't a helpful statement. 1/4
