My brand is “my clients’ minds are too complex and different for a singular message, plan or brand, I will take their feedback over anything prescriptive”

Even that sentence is too long.
If you’re stuck on a creative project, force yourself to have a new life experience. Trust me.

I'm also available in a coaching capacity (but for free) to facilitate neighborhood meetings in LA in person. We're so large we need to come together neighborhood by neighborhood and I'm happy to help. (All I ask is if it's in person we're masked or at least outdoors. Not just for me.)
As the news moves on it's important to remember ICE hasn't. They haven't left here (LA) and they won't have left Minnesota. They will be stretched thin, but they'll still be around and any help we can offer the people of impacted cities is crucial ESPECIALLY when media moves on.

What I love about community building advice is it’s instinctive, easy to understand, intuitive, and so fucking hard to follow.

Decades of self help gurus marketing themselves and their demographic-specific easy answers have made us forget these are the only ones that matter.
Clients often want me to have the answers they need. I don’t. (It certainly makes marketing myself a bitch.) What I do have is the ability to probe and ask the right questions at the right times to get them closer to THEIR answers.

I have and/or am helping a lot of people translate their skills from their tech job into a more satisfying, less frustrating sector and I have methods of figuring out what that sector might be for you. Just figured I'd mention this. And that my email is [email protected].

It'll be helpful just to know whom in your neighborhood has which skills in a crisis. I'm so ready to help and help highlight the most emergent local needs & figure out how to fulfill them.
There is no self care without community care, ESPECIALLY now. If you're looking to meet & protect your neighbors, start mutual aid networks, etc. I will set aside time to meet with you all & facilitate these convos free of charge or optional tips only, bc we should all do what we can!

In the case of comedians and comedy writer/actor types, I understand the difference between deflection and art. I will call you out on deflection and laugh at your spinning struggles into gold (and sometimes laugh at the latter even while calling you on it.)

Wait... do some people with ADHD hate mindfulness meditation because our lives are one long mindfulness meditation? Acknowledge the distraction and come back to the thing? Every second? Of every day?

I think it’s important to remember this moment in history is a backlash. That doesn’t mean things aren’t dire, it doesn’t mean what happens now isn’t vital to everyone’s safety, it doesn’t mean we don’t need to organize. It doesn’t diminish casualties. It DOES mean if we DO organize, we will win.

If you are starting a new artistic project and you're beating yourself up- imagine yourself as a small child when you first started making art and try to yell at this child the stuff you're yelling at yourself now. Chances are it feels insane & since this is a new project the analogy is indeed valid

I don’t find it difficult to understand why people who tend to want or even suggest an ingratitude practice to go with a gratitude practice I may suggest tend to be marginalized. Let’s do it! Sometimes anger is as righteous and motivating as hope, and sometimes the two together are more motivating!!

I do wonder if the tools’ popularity unintentionally (I say unintentionally because my dad and Phil had a very Eurocentric education) owes a lot to what most western belief systems lack and what belief systems that are more about consistent practice than one’s obedience and identity offer.

If there are political interests involved, it’s pretty easy to tell if someone’s hiding behind kids with intent to keep them ignorant (for example, book bans) vs. trying to preserve their innocence by, say, making sure they can all access basic necessities regardless of their parents’ income.
I wish we made more of a cultural distinction between preserving a child’s innocence and keeping a child ignorant

I know what my work is worth.
I also know I cater to individuals living in this economy- and I tend to work a lot with artists whose work is particularly under threat.
If I give discounts, it’s not because I believe I’m worth less. It’s because I believe my clients are worthy regardless of income.

If you’re a coach, you’re gonna get random men asking you to be on their Podcast and they’re going to react exactly the same if you ignore these requests as they do if you ignore thirsty DMs. But in wellness speak.
“I guess you’re following your instincts and not your training” was the last one lol
