You had me at “communities need…book shops”
Communities need used-book shops.

As the trends in our world are increasingly standardized and entrenched by "predictive" technologies that stifle innovation and reduce human actions into economic categories...

We need a full range of possibilities for readers and communities to explore and share.

In case you missed it, the Dept. of Education no longer considers nurses, physician assistants, physical therapists, audiologists, architects, accountants, educators, and social workers professionals. This change significantly cuts student loans for students seeking higher degrees.

Doggo, Scout, got a funeral home visit to open it up and run a bit on this rainy day. Love having her excited energy in the space.

Un/related: how legit is that new rug that started and guides the interior updates. Really hoping it will pull the building together.

Chaco Canyon was a cultural center for the ancestral Puebloans between 900 - 1150-, known for its "great house" structures, road systems, and sophisticated astronomical alignments. This World Heritage Site was a hub for trade and ceremony, housing up to 5,000 people, before its decline in the 1100s.

Today, after months of requests, I toured the Broadview ICE Processing Facility. I want to share what I saw.

The facility has no food vendor, no medical care, and detainees have to use toilets in the middle of shared cells. These are in no way suitable conditions to be holding anyone — period.
