Surprising no one, Trump has selected the Mouth of Sauron as press secretary, also declares they will head the new Department to be called “Ministry of Truth” . Susan Collins is deeply concerned and will send a strongly worded email.

@opb.org seriously? I swear the moment I think about donating I read some thing like this “Suburban white peoples afraid of city” piece. Before you talk about war torn… go to an actual war zone for awhile.

An important step in going from an “occasional cyclist” to a #bikecommute is changing your own flats. Now some folks go tubeless but if you are a crusty old luddite like me you will have “tubeless ready rims” and tubes at the same time.

So continuing with my #bikecommute posts. I really don’t think I did my MTX bag justice. Let me show you what it can do: Thisbis what it looks like empty

All you need to #bikecommute is a bike. A backpack helps, but really it starts with bike. But there are things that make it easier. Over my bike nerd time I have collected some I want to share. Not because I am being paid but because these things really make my commute easier.

Nysa Oregon sign says “Cowboy Lives matter, no wolves ever!!” … I wasn’t aware wolves had started killing cowboys?

OC it was the same town with a guy driving around with a pair of Gedsen and Russian flags… which is its own conundrum.

So I lost my rear bike bag off my bike yesterday (my fault) and it had my AirPods case in it. About an hour later the case started pinging at various wifi locations. Each one seedier than the last. Normally I would write it off as a loss but I had put my car key in there (also my fault) and

So I assisted an e-bike - bike crash on a MUPs that’s particularly popular in my town. It’s between a kids playground and a river access spot and… well TBH has great ambience. The two vehicles collided nearly head on while bolth bikers were passing pedestrians on their respective sides
There is no possible justification for limiting e-bikes to 15mph but not cars.

I was just talking to my kid about how the Vietnam war was ended not by protests as much as the publication of the Pentagon Papers, and how the Washington Post and the NYT were instrumental in making that information public. And how today’s media lacked the balls to stand up to the administration.
"How can we communicate with optimism about the future … when we're living in the here and now where American democracy is in peril? … And we're supposed to ignore it? Leave it to others to wrestle with …? No no no no no. …

Like a lot of ADHD people I will get fixated on one thing and think if I just get/do/achieve that one thing it will make everything better. Generally it does not. The one notable exception is I got my office located somewhere I could bike to in 15 minutes (as opposed to a 40 minute drive).

People only bike on sidewalks when streets aren’t safe. Maybe fix the problem not complain about the symptoms. Also big man shutting comments down cause he can’t take the heat.
My team and I are installing Walk Your Bike or Scooter decals across Ward 13 to make our sidewalks safer and more accessible for all. These decals help prioritize pedestrian safety, especially in high-traffic areas. Thank you to everyone for sharing their input on where to install these decals.
