So this giant hunk of shit rides around on his motorcycle and solves everyone’s problems with his fists. He’s nine feet tall and also he knows everything. His name is a dumb verb in that stupid ass nineties Way and he’s a super cop too. His show is his name which is Reacher and it’s the best

Imagine being in Chile about fifty years ago, seeing Pinochet’s death squads moving through the streets of Santiago, and deciding that the issue at play with all of the death and brutality is that death squads haven’t received the proper training

Watched Tampopo last night for the first time since maybe 2002-
- not every joke lands but I respect the hell out of the attempt
- I love the white clad couple living the final days of their food-sex noir metanarrative and passing out of the world musing on the hog-gut yam feast they never had

soldiers are mostly young people who want to do something else with most of their life. They generally don't want to live the rest of their lives with the knowledge that they executed an unarmed mom

cops want to spend thirty years with the nickname "killer"
Civilians in combat zones become combatants in combat zones when you murder their family.

Posting about my art or my interests or anything that isn’t the ceaseless deterioration of the world outside reminds me of having to Shit incredibly badly and the only toilet available is stopped up, full of what everyone else in your position left over an unknown forever from The Beginning to now

Thread.

Lots of comics folks posting their own accounts of the deadline & workload challenges of making a GN or kids book.

Here's mine. (1)
I know some editors give their artists the time they need but I feel like I've been hazed most of my career. I illustrated my first picture book in a month. My second one in four months. When I said my dad is dying and I need more time they gave me three additional weeks.
