I think you’re missing my point. If the PDS (Bluesky) represents 99% of the network and that has become hostile, and there’s only one other place to go, that doesn’t inspire confidence in me spending any money and time spinning up a PDS (that’s subject somehow to bluesky moderation anyway?)

Also, apparently Bluesky can ban you even if you migrate to Blacksky unless more money and time is invested in setting up these servers (PDS, relay, whatever)

So I don’t feel good using Bluesky any more and after researching, from what I can tell my “AT Proto Ecosystem” options are:
1.Join Blacksky, which as a white person this doesnt feel right.
2.Spin up my own PDS and relay at high cost and effort and magically get users

Am I missing anything?

If I had a social media company that was struggling with growth, I would probably not tell the users that formed the core vibe of the social media app that they can and should leave if they’re unhappy.

Let me get this straight: Link, a Black user, got banned for calling out the Bluesky CEO for following a racist. That’s not a good look, especially given Bluesky’s historical treatment of Black users here on bluesky.
