Oh, I loved it. Just didn't have a fucking clue what was going on or who anyone was. Honestly didn't get in the way of my enjoyment.
Just rewatched In The Earth. Starts off with the same premise as They Remain (underrated movie based on Laird Barron's short story -30-) but goes off at an even weirder tangent, ending up at a kind of folk horror take on JG Ballard's Secret Origin of Sunn0))). Excellent.

I like that Slayer song that goes "it's raining blood, Hallelujah it's raining blood, oh good".
I say, Mr "The Rock" Johnson, that machine you have there is really rather smashing.

Discussing the ban on Israeli Maccabi Tel Aviv fans

Only one panel member seems to know anything about their reputation for racism and violence

The ban is a safety issue, not an anti Israel matter
So one guy wants to legalise weed and the other wants to legalise racist football violence, is that about right?
Oh man, I was lost all the way through Against The Day and it was so much fun.
(And I loved Inherent Vice and Bleeding Edge, but they were much breezier than, say, Gravity's Rainbow or Mason & Dixon).
Mel brought it in for me when I was in hospital, I think being in hospital gives you extra rights in "not spoiling Christmas" terms. It's light in the way that IV and BE were, but I think it's better than both on a first go. Basically I KNOW you're gonna love it, unless you've changed dramatically.
Keith's got himself in another pickle, hasn't he? Trying to overturn a perfectly reasonable ban on football fans with a prior record of hooliganism. On one hand, that's fucking stupid. On the other, if he succeeds, and they do their usual shit, he's totally fucked himself. Twat.
Finished Shadow Ticket on the way home. Awesome book. It's kinda like Inherent Vice and Bleeding Edge in that it's just a crazy thriller at heart, but it's 1932, and the looming shadow of Fascism gives it much more of an obviously contemporary touch than a lot of his stuff.
This "Andrew losing titles" thing is just a manifestation of how the rich and privileged have armour that most of us don't. "That was bad, we'll strip you of your titles" as opposed to "that was bad, you're living under a bridge from now on". See also- CEOs on "taking risks".
Also runs the risk of creating an even bigger clusterfuck- if he succeeds, and then the Maccabi fans do their usual...
Wow, that's some fucking dark shit.
RIP Stalin, you would have loved MSPaint.
Just saw the new Frankenstein. Really enjoyed that. Bit of the ol' Del Toro cheese, but it's kinda the perfect story for that, so it really works.

People are always rightly pointing out that Warhammer contributes more to the British economy than the fishing industry, but the problem is that there just aren't very many folk songs about Warhammer
If I was writing a steampunk novel, I think I'd write it under the name Charles Dickenballs.
Yeah, it was so fucking weird... nightmarish at times and perfect at others. Definitely one of my best anecdotes, and you know how much I love those.

Other best gig was Swans at Koko when they were touring The Seer. That was as close to a religious experience as an agnostic can get.
I mean, Hello Spaceboy damn near killed the fuckers...
"This isn't your first dead body, is it?"

"Well, no. I killed Jethro, AND Nigel, AND that badger". #TheArchers
Akram and Joy are very quietly the Tom Bombadils of Ambridge. They can do EVERYTHING and are secretly the most powerful people in all of Borsetshire. #TheArchers
Still resent the fact we didn't get NIN though.
