I once killed a bee by grabbing him and throwing him against a wall.
TOS (back then we just called it Star Trek) reruns every day after school (4pm, channel 6).

I recorded all of them on old Betamax tapes. I got very good at pausing the recording to edit out commercials. The last episode to complete my collection was The Savage Curtain.
59 years ago today, Star Trek first aired in the US. A five-year mission that became six decades of imagination, inspiration, and community.

From Kirk to Burnham, DS9 to Lower Decks, every era has added something unique.

What was the first Trek you watched—and which one made you fall in love?

All I want is a spiritual successor to Deep Space Nine, done at a budget configuration that yields 26 episodes a season. "Cinematic" prestige TV doesn't look as good as a movie, but is nearly as expensive, so knock that shit off and give me a half-calendar's worth of particleboard sets, please.

The Defector (TNG) - Birds of Prey decloak

Once More Unto the Breach (DS9) - Kor fights a delaying action against the Jem’Hadar in a glorious final battle.

Soldiers of the Empire (DS9) - Martok recovers his courage.

I’m only going to rank shows that I’ve seen at least 3/4 of the episodes:

1.DS9
2.TOS
<gap>
3.VOY
4.TNG
<big gap>
5.ENT
6.TAS
<gap>
7.SNW
<big gap>
8.PIC
9.DIS
Today, what is your #StarTrek shows ranking?

Top Tier
1 TNG
2 VOY
3 DS9

Great
4 DSC
5 SNW
6 LDS
7 PRO

Great but inconsistent
8 ENT
9 PIC
10 TOS

Fine
11 TAS

1 - 10 are all pretty great in their own way. 11 I’ve come to enjoy listening to.

I love them all.

I just watched one of those stupid, AI videos that said Donald Sutherland was best known for The Hunger Games and I’ve seldom felt more rage.

Riker in the 24th Century:

“We no longer enslave animals for food.”

Picard, also in the 24th Century:

“I keep cans of unreplicated caviar from an endangered species on Earth and force it on a species that hates it cause I’m so rich I cannot be bothered…”
