Hear, hear! Ever since Thatcher, politicians of all stripes have deliberately used this incredibly bogus metaphor - household debt is nothing like national debt. 'Maxxing out the national credit card' is an equally misleading phrase.

Musk is inciting violence on London's streets.Tommy Robinson is financed by US tech bros. These are all very direct attempts to destabilise the British state.

Starmer needs to stand up to this. A government that doesn't defend its country's values against these blatant attacks is not doing its job.

This must be a watershed moment. The government's continued use of X is no longer simply negligent. It is an act of conscious assistance to violent extremism.

The common sense meaning should make this Elon Musk's "rivers of blood" moment

Though I think he goes further than Enoch Powell in a couple of important ways

Elon Musk spoke by video to Tommy Robinson's anti-immigrant rally in the UK today.

"You're in a fundamental situation here where, whether you choose violence or not, violence is coming to you," said Musk. "You either fight back or you die."

I asked a group of students how many asylum seekers were admitted to the UK in 2024. Most estimates were over a million. Real number is about 40,000. People like Farage talk about "invasion;" as in my house was invaded when my niece came for tea and brought her husband too.

Reminder that, even as we were rolling out the vaccines after a heroic international effort, A THOUSAND PEOPLE A DAY were dying of Covid in the UK, and only renewed lockdown stopped it being more. Without vaccines, that was our long-term reality.

Amongst Farage's other idiocies in his clip, it seems that despite 'growing up with vaccines' he doesn't understand the concept of a 'booster'. The prospect of this malevolent dullard getting anywhere close(r) to power is becoming more and more alarming.

Nigel Farage demonstrates he doesn't understand how the covid vaccines work

"They basically lied to us.. Having the jab did not stop you from passing on covid.. Did not stop you from catching covid again"

There’s nothing really “ideological” about either Donald Trump or Jair Bolsonaro. Their commonality is their corruption and criminality.

Just another day where the Director of National Intelligence opines that I must be guilty of something for not posting on X.

This is not normal. This is what it looks like when the Trump administration is targeting their political opponents.
