I'm officially taking a break until the end of January.

no scheduled posts, no promo. I'll still be doing some teaching, and will send out newsletters monthly with the schedule & info. and I will do some promo for Year in Kink because — it's that time of year!

otherwise, I'm on social media break
I started his & hers (on netflix), and I just finished Tourist Season by Brynn Weaver

I'm struck by how much dementia/alzheimer's is a common narrative in all sorts of stories I consume — from dark romance / serial killer 4 serial killer rom-com, to cop procedural dramas — is growing

honestly perhaps the worst part about going through the Big Dark season in the PNW this particular year is that none of my friends are into heated rivalry the way that I am

around 5pm today, friday, I thought: I have nothing going on tonight! I can rewatch 4,5,6, as I've been itching to do the last 5 nights. and now it's after midnight and I haven't, and I miss my boyfriends.

honestly I'm fascinated by the cultural phenomenon that is this show #heatedrivalry #rewatch

Remembering today that having your heart broken is a necessary step on the path to becoming fully human. Whichever heartbreak is your first, it’s probably critical that a state break your heart so that you can develop a political imagination. If this is your first, I’m sorry and also welcome.

in case you haven't seen it, canada just passed a new law that changed citizen-by-birth nationality laws.

passed in Dec, Bill C-3 now says basically anyone with Canadian ancestry IS a canadian.

do your own research, I'm not an expert, but all of us americans should know about this & look into it

To all the Americans now realize that their skin color will not protect from ICE brutality.

Welcome to the resistance.

there were transphobes outside my grocery store today!!

yelling about voting for a particular ballot measure to "keep boys out of girl's sports" and "put parental rights back in the classroom"

wish I'd had glitter in my pocket to shower them with

finally remembering how to use an app like bsky — when I'm tempted to text someone something, but it's actually quite random and they don't really need to know and I don't need to keep bothering them with bids for attention

one of the things I kept up in 2025 — which was some of my most pleasurable and fun — was sexting with you pervs. amazing how much we can do with so little words, and how quickly we can fall into a banter of a story, or power, or dirty talk. I love it www.sextpanther.com/dirtywordsda...

started watching "your friends & neighbors" and it's so much better than I expected! I do like jon hamm, so I figured I'd enjoy it, but wow the commentary on rich middle-aged white america is pretty scathing. what a foreign world (to me, anyway)

When I hear "there's no gay romance" "m/m was created by women" "romance is for women" I think of the number of author bios in the back of "Best Gay Romance" books, or magazines, especially the 90s, ending with notations of when those authors died and I get so fucking angry I cannot even tell you.
