Sure, Monster Care Squad, for example doesn't even have specific combat resolution mechanics. It's largely not a game about fighting, fighting doesn't accomplish any of your goals, so there's almost never a reason to do it.
Hey #ttrpgCommunity!

Have you ever played a game that didn't rely on combat to resolve conflicts? What was the system? And how did the mechanics encourage non-combat resolution?

It's this but then the exterminator sends you text messages asking for more money every 3 hours for the rest of your life
the reason people sometimes act madder at democrats than republicans when republicans do impossibly evil shit is the same reason why, if you hired an exterminator to handle a roach infestation and he showed up to feed and play with them instead, your first instinct wouldn’t be to yell at the roaches

I need you to understand that when we say “hey disabled people exist…?” in reply to something you said and you respond with “I wasn’t talking about you”…we know. That’s our point. That’s the literal entire point 😂😭

A note:
After the 1st of the year we’ll have 3 episodes of the new season of #criticalhit out. At that point I’m going to start posting about it incessantly. This is my return to the GM chair and I want everyone to listen. So you’ve been warned, it’s going to get heavy with the #LANCER up in here.

When a disabled person expresses concerns over assisted dying legislation, please listen to them.

Don’t speak over them.

Don’t assume they want to deny you the right to die.

We’re fighting for our right to live.

We’re fighting fascism & eugenics.

Assisted Dying policies will always target us.

One of the reasons why I go so hard on science misinformation/disinformation, is that as a working scientist it is frustrating to see your research misreported to push an agenda.

For example, consider this piece of right-wing propaganda from The Telegraph that was just published

The saddest part about Disney’s A Christmas Carol is not that it’s the most hideous movie ever made (although it is). It’s that it could’ve just been live action and we would’ve gotten an epic scrooge out of Jim Carrey.

Dispatches from Elsewhere really falls apart on that last episode. It recasts the whole thing in a self indulgent light that makes all the little flaws you were happy to ignore into glaring issues.

I may or may not be writing up a Pathfinder one-shot with this (or something like this) as the premise. I probably won't have the players hunt and kill the actual Dr. Phil, unless @superdracula.bsky.social is playing and insists.

I was trying to figure out what was the last music album that I sat down and listened to *as an album*, and it’s definitely the Guilty Gear Strive soundtrack.

There’s a scene in Santaclause 2 where a bunch of dour adults get gifts they loved as kids, if they made this movie today they would get Gak and Cabbage Patch Kids.
