I'm currently trying to switch to Three Broadband, but their website is totally failing to let me do so, with all kinds of server-related error messages. Now wondering whether this could be a red flag or a one-off 🤔🚩😬

It's a somewhat different way of doing a PhD, and the American faculty would have to relinquish some level of holding power over students, which may be unpalatable to many of them. Would also require attaining higher level of technical specialism beforehand; BS unlikely to change so get an MS first?

AI doesn't "want" a Nobel prize though, unless Swedish kronor and a medal become of use to it somehow

Anyone on #chemsky have thoughts or insights into fully remote jobs that still live in the process development chemistry realm? May potentially need to transition to a remote position next year and trying to plan ahead

Shame, I would have bought the one for cryptos

Nope, simply the topic. I've never got it right for the right year before. I did of course have one winner - but I didn't pre-announce that. Then again if you have the topic OY was obvious :P

I just started a secondment that may shape my future; I doubt it would have happened without the ripples that started on Twitter many years ago!

My entire professional life happened due to social media. I only applied to my first job due to a Twitter recommendation from the person who became my mentor there. All my talks, magazine articles, some journal articles came about through socials.

For the first time, I predicted a Nobel prize topic correctly! I did not pre-announce it on social media this year, but @cmjaeger.bsky.social and @peonor.bsky.social can attest that I did announce my guess in person to a room of chemists 🤣 #chemsky #MOFs

Ok #viewFromMyHotelRoom scores 1/10 this time for being a car park. I suspect there might still be construction(?) to the south so my "quiet room" request led me to the less pretty side. But it's always a great pleasure and joy to be in Mölndal! 🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🙌🙌🙌🥳

Oh that's awesome, I wish I had known to try. I actually took the screenshot a couple of weeks ago, it was in China but planted ornamentally

Let's google whether this plane will have charging capabilities at my seat. That's useful information

"This site can recline 7.5 cm!"
"This seat is in an area featuring dynamic mood lighting!"
"This seat is 38 cm deep!"

No I was looking for _useful_ information :(

Years ago, I always waved hello to a churchyard gardener as I cycled to work. One day he flagged me down so we could introduce ourselves properly. On hearing I do sci, he said "oh, do you do the thing where you have the tubes and the other little tubes, and you pour liquid between the tubes?" Yes!
