Containing "data on chemical hazards, exposure, environmental sustainability, and uses; alternatives to substances of concern; and a range of regulatory information".
I sincerely hope ECHA strongly considers all the letters of FAIR to make this as useful as it sounds #chemsky
The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has begun work on an open platform of information on chemicals that will collate data from multiple European Union (EU) agencies and some 70 laws under one umbrella. cen.acs.org/policy/regul... #chemsky 🧪

"We've lost our hair" - balding as a mark of competence. Image would have been a funny meme without the caption suggesting it's their entire workforce. That's a company not to hire I guess...

Not the worst from a pop sci video but the H2O made me lol. The arrow means small -> macromolecule evolution over millions of years so no issue with that bit.

Unsure whether anyone else on #chemsky cares as it's super-nerdy 😄 but I found this presentation by Martin Vogt on canonicalization of chemoinformatic representations and its relation to substructure searching super interesting.

*sigh* Some days I would like the vibe to get closer to how Twitter was; others I am reminded exactly how Twitter used to be.

I feel some déjà vu... the popular chemistry software whose support team incorrectly mansplained stereochemistry last year is now incorrectly mansplaining a different kind of stereochemistry to me :D
(But at least the first bug got squished eventually, so hopefully this one will too?!)

In my Swedish lessons, I just had a date ("dejt"!) with a recorded voice of a guy, & I had to speak back to the computer. He shot down all my date ideas and was obsessed with hiring electric scooters instead. Then asks in advance whether he should call me afterwards. Sorry bro, ingen andra dejt 😂

For all your Infamnalogn needs! Publish in this very real journal now. It's so real it's even indexed in PuMmed, and it'll only cost $1000 to have your manuscript disappear into a black money hole! 🤑 #predatory

Tonight, the owl has moved to a tree on the opposite side of the canal, yet somehow he seems louder than ever. On the plus side, I can just about make out his silhouette against the sky, which is the first glimpse I've had. I hope tonight's fireworks don't bother him too much! 🦉

My brother got me a chemistry joke book for Christmas, and I'm sure you'd love to hear some, #chemchat. Some of them are good, some of them are bad, some are silly, a couple are a bit off-colour 🙃

Q: What professions make the best conductors?
A: The police: everyone knows copper is a good conductor

I have, quite overzealously, now changed my phone language to Swedish to aid learning. Of course in 2025, this has unexpectedly automatically changed my watch too, and the preferred language everywhere I use Chrome browser. I'm changing the browser language back at least; not ready for that yet 😂
