I was in talks with GDC staff on myself and/or my colleagues going there this year by invitation, but we looked at the state of the US and were like NOPE!
A GDC poll has found that 31% of responding international developers have cancelled plans to attend the event this year, with a further 33% considering it, because people just don't feel safe travelling to the United States right now:

This is the cartoonish amount of snow that other countries make fun of Canadians for.
Glad kids got a snow day because back in my day they absolutely would expect us at school in this.

Here is a video of a frozen creek that had begun to thaw, and the water was flowing beneath the thin ice on top. I took this because it was soothing and wonderfully bloopy and I wanted to listen to it for hours. You are all welcome to enjoy it, too. Let your brain settle here and rest for a moment.

I spent the past 2 weeks not caring about any work stuff for once to allow myself to enjoy the holidays after a very bad year. I very much had a great time just relaxing.

Worked very hard to lose about 20 pounds this year, but 2025 sucked so Imma spend this entire holiday season not caring about my diet and ruining my weight loss for a bit so I can enjoy myself.

Just so I'm clear on this, computer memory has tripled in price because a bunch of it that hasn't been produced yet has been ordered to populate GPUs that aren't installed in data centers that aren't built yet in order to service a demand that doesn't exist to make profits that don't happen.
