Post-script on the Big Ten volleyball season. Better conference than preseason expectations and arguably the best overall, but Nebraska being a juggernaut running away with league decisively dulled any drama, which is unfortunate.

Gotta give Auburn credit: no matter what happens, they showed way more fighting spirit in their big rivalry game than Michigan did, besides with an official and defending a damn logo, today.

The Big Ten arguably is the best volleyball conference (still) and Nebraska shredded it like Enron. I'm still not sure if they're 2008 Penn State, which only dropped two sets the entire season, level of elite, but impressive considering the weight of their schedule.

As for Michigan, the excuses will be youth and injuries. But at the end of the day, they failed each of their three biggest tests and were generally unremarkable in most of their other games. That's on coaching and there should be a reevaluation of the leadership in Ann Arbor.

Kind of funny that we're going to enter December and have no true sense of how good Ohio State actually is. No. 1 vs. No. 2 for the Big Ten championship will have to be the measuring stick before the playoff.

Both teams are trying to be cute early with their play designs, but Michigan is understanding the assignment a little bit more at this point. No idea what Ohio State was thinking starting with two passes like that.
