I'm too lazy to make a new profile so here's my old one: Hot cocoa zealot. Occasional funny man. I've been told I make a mean calzone. Might be a sports fan, but the jury is still out.

Did this dude just wake up from a 30 year coma? I think most fans would kill for only having to "chase their team" on two or three networks these days (working under the assumption that this writer combined English & French networks for dramatic effect).

WNBA Finals sweep down from last year's full-length series, but still second-most watched since 2000. Nine-straight Finals games have topped the one million mark, nearly matching all prior years combined. www.sportsmediawatch.com/2025/10/wnba...
WNBA Finals sweep down from last year's full-length series
Going from the maximum number of games last year to the minimum this year, the WNBA Finals was unsurprisingly less of a draw.

Here's a look at FOX's Saturday primetime gimmick. From what I can gather, the Arkansas-Michigan State game on Nov. 8 is the earliest a major broadcast network has aired a college basketball game ever in a regular season. FOX is dedicating two Saturday nights in Nov. for hoops.
Nov. 8: Arkansas-Michigan State
Nov. 15: BYU-UConn * - 7pm
Nov. 15: South Carolina-USC (W) * - 9pm
Dec. 13: Michigan-Maryland
Jan. 3: Purdue-Wisconsin
Jan. 10: Maryland-UCLA ^
Jan. 24: Kansas-Kansas State
Jan. 31: UConn-Creighton
Feb. 7: Illinois-Michigan State
Feb. 14: Purdue-Iowa OR Virginia-Ohio State *
Feb. 21: Illinois-UCLA
Feb. 28: Villanova-St. John's

Additionally, no game scheduled for Mar. 6 due to FOX carrying a Team USA World Baseball Classic pool play game that evening. The Michigan-UConn women's game on Nov. 21 is the first WBB game featured on the Friday programming block since it debuted last season.

I believe this is the full FOX College Hoops Friday (excluding Black Friday games) regular season lineup for the season. FOX will air the Mountain West football championship on Dec. 5 and the Holiday Bowl on Jan. 2. No game scheduled for Jan. 9, night of the second CFP semifinal.
Nov. 21: Michigan-UConn (women's) *
Dec. 12: Texas-UConn
Dec. 19: Villanova-Wisconsin *
Jan. 16: Baylor-Kansas
Jan. 23: Ohio State-Michigan
Jan. 30: Michigan-Michigan State
Feb. 6: UConn-St. John's
Feb. 13: Michigan State-Wisconsin
Feb. 20: Indiana-Purdue
Feb. 27: Michigan-Illinois

Marathon Tigers-Mariners Game 5 delivers nearly nine million viewers, an outsized audience not just compared to past years (with all the caveats regarding Nielsen methodology) but even to other games this postseason: www.sportsmediawatch.com/2025/10/tige...
Marathon Tigers-Mariners Game 5 nears nine million mark
The Tigers and Mariners delivered a classic on the field and an outsized audience on TV, as nearly nine million saw their Game 5 marathon.

ESPN trading the least desirable Big 12 football & men's basketball games that aren't on ESPN+ to TNT for Inside the NBA is a phenomenal haul for the world wide leader. Zaslav is not seeing the pearly gates.

Options are

12pm: FOX
3:30pm: CBS & BTN
7:30pm: NBC

And two FS1 slots
symmering.bsky.social
A situation where both answers are technically correct, but the real answer is money (along with those things).
Ask Cordella what part of the NBC pitch resonated most with the NBA, and he’ll say, “Broadcast TV. I’ve said this repeatedly — broadcast TV is the best place to reach the masses in this media era."

But ask Silver what resonated most, and he might very well say, “Peacock.” Because the commissioner has repeatedly said that when the NFL staged the Chiefs-Dolphins wild-card game on Peacock in January 2024, he wasn’t sure if the audience would follow or the stream would buffer. When it all went off like a charm, he was in.

When you're watching a Michigan football game in 2025, the surest bet you can make is that they give up points on their first defensive series. The first series is the bane of Wink Martindale.
