Here's a look at FOX's Saturday primetime gimmick. From what I can gather, the Arkansas-Michigan State game on Nov. 8 is the earliest a major broadcast network has aired a college basketball game ever in a regular season. FOX is dedicating two Saturday nights in Nov. for hoops.

A situation where both answers are technically correct, but the real answer is money (along with those things).

Ask Cordella what part of the NBC pitch resonated most with the NBA, and he’ll say, “Broadcast TV. I’ve said this repeatedly — broadcast TV is the best place to reach the masses in this media era."

But ask Silver what resonated most, and he might very well say, “Peacock.” Because the commissioner has repeatedly said that when the NFL staged the Chiefs-Dolphins wild-card game on Peacock in January 2024, he wasn’t sure if the audience would follow or the stream would buffer. When it all went off like a charm, he was in.
