Another thing we saw at the MoMA today was photos by New Orleans-based artist L. Kasimu Harris. In particular photos from endangered Black bars and lounges in that city and elsewhere. Very cool work. www.moma.org/artists/1380...

The average medieval peasant could not buy a gas station delta 9 gummy and watch “Scooter Fail Compilation 5” on YouTube, which makes it difficult to compare GDP across time

If you find yourself in New York City the Ruth Asawa exhibit is very cool. The sculptures can’t really be captured in photographs or words, have to be felt firsthand; pure art.

So this is why I said Pynchon is finally resonating with me in the current moment.
"A death-haunted Trump is fed a steady stream of AI-generated news and polls while he focuses 100% of his efforts on building a ballroom that would dwarf the rest of the White House while navigating a series of accellerating and hidden health crises" is my take on the current situation.

Kind of a drag that people are just not using headphones on public transit at this point.

I feel bad that there are people out there not enjoying pies and cheesecakes. Would not be me.

Listening to the Grateful Dead Sirius channel in the car as one does. Man I really would not otherwise be choosing to hear all these godawful 90s keyboard tones.

It is so, so bad. We’re surrounded by some of the sloppiest copy I’ve ever seen. Nothing gets another set of eyes anymore. Incredibly amateurish stuff at some really serious media orgs. Makes me wanna scream.
Every day I see spelling and grammar mistakes in ads, TV chyrons, and other places where, in the past, it would be deeply embarrassing and a deal breaker for the source, but now they just fly, and where are the editors. Just hire me or something, damn.
Tell me, bro, where is your EDITOR?

one of the underrated factors for the rise in scamming across U.S. society is the death of local media.
It gets lost in the shuffle, but the Speaker of the House is someone who, by all rights, should’ve had his career ended a decade ago by a Shreveport TV news investigative team.
Fond memories of that time Mike Johnson was president of a local law school that never opened its doors, in part because it was attached to a Baptist college that was losing its accreditation, and in part because it was always a scam from the start

Very depressing but well-reported and well-told.
A few months ago @thelocal.to got a promising pitch from a writer with bylines in whole bunch of reputable publications—The Cut, The Guardian, Dwell, Architectural Digest, etc. Then I started investigating. Here's a story about fabulists in journalism's AI slop era. thelocal.to/investigatin...
Investigating a Possible Scammer in Journalism’s AI Era | The Local
A suspicious pitch from a freelancer led editor Nicholas Hune-Brown to dig into their past work. By the end, four publications, including The Guardian and Dwell, had removed articles from their sites.

Im asking for help to save my front teeth. As many of you might know Ive spent my entire adult life as a full time artist, a lifestyle with little opportunity to afford basic health care over the years. Ive learned that without urgent surgery my teeth will likely abscess & be lost. Anything helps! ❤️‍🔥

I was just talking with somebody at a barbecue about Mark Sanford (it was in DC ok?). Could barely remember his name it seemed so long ago. And now this; the universe works in mysterious ways.
