I used to do things at Airport Lawyer and WidenLaw. Now less internety projects. Forever hollering about Detroit sports. Arsenal. Michigan. Reformed political hollerer.
Also anyone suggesting that the 2024 Michigan team was better clearly has a deep dark memory hole where keep any/all memories of that team.

On a cursory rewatch, it's very clear that Michigan badly outplayed Michigan, but Michigan had too much grit to go away and hung tough. In the end, the talent Michigan made one too many plays, but it was close. Next week Michigan will again play Michigan, this time in Maryland.

Credit where due, they did in fact call this on Northwesterns big run
I wouldn’t be mad about that holding call if I thought for one second they were going to call holding on northwestern today

It isn’t fun. It’s 5 freshman on offense. I choose to focus on what it means that they got to 500 yards more than on the fact that they lost their shit for a few minutes.

Gotta say, I understand concerns about Sherrone, but I don’t see this at all. He’s embraced a lot of things about recruiting that Jim didn’t. The offensive line is improving which never happened under Hoke. They’ve run the ball.

That’s not on Wink. It wasn’t a complicated coverage or route. Just execute basic stuff.

There’s just too many freshman for it to be fun this year. Just gotta win the game

Bryce never looks more freshman than against any blitz
November 15, 2025 at 6:43 PM
Just an absolutely terrible idea

This is the worst the line has looked since Oklahoma. Really surprised

I really hope that we someday get a well reported explanation for Michigans baffling substitution patterns on defense.
November 15, 2025 at 6:19 PM
Put the starters back in and the defense was fine

Every play now I’m just begging Wink to not blitz

Honestly, Michigan needs to embrace a stupider brand of offense. More straight drives, fewer passes, more bad shots. We can bully and Oreb, but we have to trust those skills and stop hunting for great shots. We don’t have the passing.

I’m watching the princess bride with my kids and Vizzini keeps saying “INCONCEIVABLE” and that how I feel watching this
This is unbelievable in the sense that I do not believe it.

The Detroit Pistons down their entire starting lineup, and they are about to win again. Ninth in a row.

the story is about how the American elite is rotten to its very marrow, to the extent that half of it was plotting and scheming about how to use Trump to advance their own venal interests before he even won

Media literacy is low overall but it’s also very high among a lot of people now and we’re not stupid enough to believe that ~the rules of journalism~ - especially at powerful institutions like the NYT - are real anymore. They obviously put their finger on the scale or let up when they want to.

The value of reading history is you know that in 1860 there were abolitionists who were so demoralized that they thought chattel slavery would be permanent. 5 years later those still alive had lived to see its end.

People really have to stop sending AD to the Pistons. It makes absolutely no sense.

Sports are an important window into power and wealth because you see all the same stories that exist in business and politics, but there’s a win/loss column to mock the blinkered morons.
The Luka trade was the exogenous shock that rattled me from my stupor and made me realize almost everyone in power in any field right now is literally, in the clinical sense, addicted to both gambling and attention, and doesn't give a single shit about anyone else. I was clearly not alone here.

it's not that i ever doubted that being a barista was a skilled position, but my year-long effort to try to produce a half-decent latte at home has convinced me that a good barista is easily more skilled than virtually every c-suite executive on the planet
