Thank you! We have so many local cheeses here, and they tend to take centre stage anywhere you might shop for cheese, but I'm sure somewhere will sell this. I'll track it down!

I haven't noticed it on the market cheese stall, but next time I'm there, I'll have a proper look for it.

Bloody hell! Laura, cheap day trip to France. It might cost you as much overall, but you'd have a day in France as well as a Covid jab!

Damn! I should have found out where she lives!

Don’t miss my latest piece on @contrariannews.org … I talk about being a recipe developer/food writer by sharing a tale of disaster, despair, and perseverance…and use it as an object lesson for our fight against this fascist government.

Oh and a great recipe

Hmm, there is a cheese I have not tried. I must rectify this.

Yes, but only a smallish piece of comté. I hope you share the fromage as well as the pain.

It's the beautiful beginning of apple season so I'm here to share a few of my traditional French apple recipes and the interesting stories behind them.

Starting with the history of the apple in France and recipes for 2 excellent apple cakes!

Was the apprentice sacked for being a better hairdresser than the owner?

The UK approach seems as though it is counterproductive. At the very least, surely anyone over 50 and anyone with any kind of underlying health condition should be eligible. The cost must be negligible compared to them potentially ending up in hospital. I really don't get it.

Definitely my kind of philosophy.

It's so ridiculous. In France, any adult who wants one still gets one free. The number of people who are excluded in the UK is absolutely shocking.

It's always good to know you've got supplies in. Especially supplies of cheese!
taniadoney.bsky.social
Quite. It doesn't bear thinking about.

No. God, I hope she's going to be OK.

I can understand that. You want to make everything better for your mum, but you can't. You are helping to make things as good as they can be for her though. Hold onto that and be kind to yourself.

She bought a big wodge of Cantal entre-deux, some Saint-Nectaire, a smallish piece of comté, and a couple of round goat's cheeses. I do hope it's going to be enough.

Morning, Mushen. Glad you're feeling a bit better, and that sounds the ideal way to spend the day.

Lady in front of me at the cheese stall this morning informed the stallholder she was going away for a few days. "But it'll keep in the fridge," she said. "I don't want to get back and not have any cheese."

Life lesson for all of us there, I feel.
