What are some of your favourite Christmas songs that most people don’t usually listen to? Personal favourites of mine are the two Weird Al ones, and the two Fountains of Wayne ones.

IDK who needs to hear this, but you're allowed to like one part of a band's discography and not the other. You don't have to know the whole history of a band to be a fan. You can just simply LIKE the music. You don't need to know names of every album or song or band member. You can just LIKE music.

Throwback almost two decades ago to my first paid recording gig - when my dad was recording his Christmas album and wanted me to say good night at the end of a song.

After all these years, I have him to thank for my interest in #music

I don’t know how I always get sucked into whatever movie my wife is watching, but I assume some sort of magic is at play everytime.

Just once, I’d like to see a Hallmark Christmas movie where the girl from the city doesn’t randomly quit her 7 figure job to live with a guy she met three days ago in the middle of nowhere.

Writer: We need a name for what jazz music is called in Star Wars

George Lucas: Jizz

Writer: Really? Um. Maybe instead it could-

Lucas: (eyes glowing, voice booming from the heavens, speaking an inevitable truth older than time itself) Jizz

It’s amazing how many times you don’t notice a tambourine in the background of a song until you listen for it.

Heavily debating making a playlist called “Pick Up The Damn Phone” where every song starts with the tone of a phone ringing. I even got a few already in mind:

Telephone Line by ELO
I Beg Your Pardon by Kon Kan
Wow, I Can Get Sexual Too by Say Anything

Any others I should add?

The particular one that I’m on a decent amount is for a very small prog rock band in Australia (Black Dime Cabaret) - people are super cool on there and I’ve gotten some decent songs from them :)

I’ve had good success with talking directly with other music fans on communities like Discord, with a good mix of algorithms through YouTube recommendations and Spotify Discover.

Found some of my favourite bands that way!

It’s because when you feel any pain, you can just hit the drums, and that makes you happy :)

(At least from the point of view from someone who’s played drums live for over a decade at this point)
