People are over-reading this. The judge dismissed the *federal* murder charges because his (alleged) actions didn’t fit within federal law. He still faces *state* murder charges because it’s usually a state crime. The feds stepped in because they were mad NY doesn’t have the death penalty.

I think that's the biggest mistake they made, really, was making life so fleeting that the dice roll math works out for many that well, it might as well go towards defending my neighbor than some completely predictable and regulatable nightclub fire, or mass shooting, or plane crash from overwork
