A few years ago I was walking around Lake Sunapee in New Hampshire with some family members and passed a fellow with an interesting haircut walking the other way, talking on his phone about old photographs. Realized quickly that it was Ken Burns.
In the early 90s I shared a hotel elevator with Emilio Estevez and I got out on my floor not having exchanged a single word with him

I'm sure this will raise some hackles, but I feel like the generational bickering thing is basically like a currently-acceptable form of racism: attributing negative characteristics to an entire class of people and treating them as a single monolithic entity that all share the same aspects.

The wife and I caught "Wake Up Dead Man" last night and really enjoyed it.
I'm very surprised that I haven't heard more bleating from the MAGA crowd about it - Rian Johnson made his feelings on the subject pretty clear.

This sucks. I used to torment my former team with “Beer Run” when we’d all get together and I had them trapped in my car (after setting them up with “The Road Goes On Forever and the Party Never Ends”).

If you are a gamer, do not be tempted by the LG G4 OLED - it's beautiful for movies and shows but if you try to play a console through it, you will spend most of your time staring at a screen that says "no signal". And it's absolutely a problem with the tv that LG refuses to do anything about.

Spent four lovely hours tubing on the Shenandoah River today, and having finally learned my lesson, I was very careful to apply - and reapply - generous amounts of high SPF sunscreen.

Getting really tired of the "If you're using AI you're not a real artist" posts - the problem isn't artists who use AI and pretend to be artists, the problem is businesses who just want "product" and don't care where it comes from - and if they can get it for "free" that's all that matters to them.

The least believable part of Superman wasn’t flying humanoid aliens, or people who can turn into any element, or magic power rings, but the idea that conservatives would change their minds on something based on a newspaper report.

Once "content" - not art, not music, not writing - became a commodity, it was inevitable that a capitalist system would want to maximize output while minimizing cost.
When I see "content" I can't help replace it with "shit". That's all these companies want - a machine that makes shit.
