The UK, where the day after a decision to take half a million children out of poverty, the media & political world has been full of sneering at those same children & their families, labelling them as ‘Benefits Street’, while the same people are moaning about a tax on £2m mansions. Shameful stuff.

last year I read one of the worst books I have ever read that was obviously a self-insert fantasy of the author where she blows up her life and marriage to date a late 20s aspiring break dancer and I still think about it sometimes. it was so earnest and awful at the same time.

Years ago this was the idiotic stance of people on prisons. They've literally just switched over to asylum seekers. It's so transparent it may as well be glass, hatred for the sake of it.
