After spending 43 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit, evidence hidden by the prosecution reversed his conviction. Rather than finally enjoying freedom, ICE abducted him for deportation

Depraved.

This is not new in Chicago and it is how you spot the real ones among all these groups: they are serious people and do stuff. Back during the Gulf War some of the most admirable activists were priests and radical Catholics.

I'm sorry, I can't keep my promise to provide better alt-text. I was working on a reposted version with those images, spent about 40 minutes on it, and then the draft disappeared.

While I was there, the numbers varied from about 100 to 175 people, no speeches, but pretty constant chanting with rhythm section and positive response from drivers who would often honk or wave.

Frog arrived about 2:30. We also had this other thing
About 10 protestors on a corner in front of a taco place (sign above door: TACOS / TORTAS in yellow letters on red). One sign reads "undocumented hands feed you". There is also a person in a fog suit with a sign on a pink background reading "1 horchata sin " followed by ice cubes. Two people are animating a Chinese dragon costume thing. The back end (at left) is pale pink and feathery. The head is sort of rounded cubical, two feet across, whitish with red round eyes, ears and mouth.

Do I have documentary evidence of this? Am I best buds with "Mikhail"? No. But I think it's much more likely that someone wrote this hilarious Pythonesque text on purpose than that somebody produced it by accident. I "just know".

... you ended up using the $1400 that "Mikhail" supposedly spent on tickets for "Waiting for Godot" on Broadway before writing the "review" appended below.

Well, that was a **bit**.

Call it parody or satire or burlesque, it was a successful piece of comic writing. /2

TFW you paid $1400 to see Beckett’s most famous work without knowing anything about it
One Star Review of Waiting for Godot on Broadway
I recently attended Waiting for Godot on Broadway and spent over $1,400 for two Row C seats (103 and 104). I'm a longtime admirer of Broadway productions and even hold a season pass for Shea's Performing Arts Theatre, so I came in with genuine enthusiasm and high expectations. Unfortunately, this show was unlike anything ! have ever experienced —and not in a good way.
What I encountered was not the artistry, music, or emotional storytelling I usually associate with Broadway, but instead what felt like an endless cycle of nonsensical conversation between characters who seemed trapped in their own madness. I tried-truly tried-to find meaning, symbolism, or even a thread of emotional resonance. I stayed through the first half hoping the second would offer clarity. But by intermission, it was clear: this was a waste of both time and money.
Keanu Reeves is an actor I respect greatly, but I cannot fathom why he would agree to participate in such a disjointed, inaccessible production. His talent was lost in a performance that defied reason rather than provoked insight.
To anyone considering attending: unless you are drawn to highly abstract, nearly incomprehensible theater, I strongly caution you against this show. For the average, educated, thoughtful theatergoer, it is far more frustrating than fulfilling. In my opinion, this was the single most disappointing Broadway experience I've ever had - an unfortunate waste of money and, more importantly, of time.

I'm sad 😔 First.. When you were stuck for a number because Emily poached yours, you could have used the $20 decillion fine levied by a Russian court against Google. As I pointed out a week ago.

This is actually a cause for hope. Because why is Thune not excited about eliminating the filibuster and just shoving through their whole program with 218 votes in the House and 50 in the Senate? Because he knows the people would HATE IT and they would split over it.
atrupar.com
Thune: "If the Democrats had won the majority, they probably would've tried to nuke the filibuster. And then you'd have four new senators from Puerto Rico and DC, you'd have a packed Supreme Court, you'd have abortion on demand ... "

They're paying attention.

They don't want us to protest on October 18.

It will make them unhappy and nervous.

SO - get out the markers and posterboard!! 😃

Today US Rep Tom Emmer called anyone who is going to protest on October 18 anti-American. This is a great day to call Tom Emmer‘s phone lines with some patriotic messages. Tom Emmer is the house, majority whip, a second place finisher. He has done nothing for Minnesota, but collect a huge salary.

Will anyone around him notice, and dare to try to convince him, and actually succeed in doing so, that she's a "good" (anti-Maduro) Venezuelan?

I think Rubio for example would notice but not dare to say so

The existence of one ex-christian dismantles the central lie of Christianity, that it is an inmate characteristic from birth and therefore should have human rights awarded to it.

I can do it too Chloe!

In addition, throughout the 2000's the feds carried out a lot of operations where undercover agents roped people into discussing violent activities. And it wasn't a new strategy then. We should all be especially wary of the eager person who just shows up and wants to do really edgy stuff.

Everyone is making fun of these guys, and rightfully so, but these aren't the guys who signed up for ICE. That doesn't make them sympathetic or good, but they aren't by default enthusiastic fascists. We'll see how they act.
