Legally here on a work permit. Arrested when he went to renew it. Not fighting his deportation. Yet he's been in detention 29 days. No access to a lawyer. Has been given no information about his case. Family inquiries also ignored. ICE only responded when local news requested comment.

As a reminder, the fucking ICE patrols are still out attacking and detaining people in Minnesota. These actions have not stopped. Hell, it doesn’t really even seemed to have slowed much.
ICE is still in Minnesota. ICE is still breaking down glass windows and doors. ICE is still separating families. ICE is still targeting our neighbors who need to go to work because they cannot afford food, rent, and basic living expenses. 1/

I am not a lawyer but this seems like a nearly complete acknowledgment by the lawyers of the DOJ that the system is collapsing at an alarming rate. They clearly admit that they are unable to follow the Constitution.

If this proposal happens there will be ZERO reforms to Border Patrol or ICE. Nothing will ever change. Once something like this is agreed to, that will be the end of all negotiations as far as Republicans are concerned. Dems will get no reforms on immigration enforcement.
