Well, it came sooner than I wanted, but we set Galaxy free Friday. He was struggling and seemed to be in pain so it was time to say goodbye. My only regret is my son, who brought Galaxy into our family, wasn’t there to see him go. But he knew he was loved.
Well, I’ve been up since 3:30PM, and the roofers arrived at 6:00PM. So already busy and hectic around here.

Cheesecake is in the oven. I’m finally sitting down for a few minutes before making some honey butter and herbed butter. The honey butter is for the cornbread ala Marie Callender’s and the herbed butter is for the boring mixed vegetables. Jazzing them up in butter and wine.

We aren’t doing traditional Thanksgiving again this year. My mom is cooking steak and baked potatoes and King’s Hawaiian rolls. Here’s what I’m making for the meal. Yes, I design a menu for meals like this, even when they aren’t traditional. I am extra, I know.

My sister is sending me my mama’s birth and death certificates. I just ordered my daddy’s birth certificate and it should be here in about 10 days. I already have his death certificate. This paperwork puts me one step closer to my original birth certificate!

My mom announced again this year that she was “not doing Thanksgiving”. Well, that’s fine, but my sons are coming over so I had plans to make food.
Once she heard that, she’s suddenly back in the game and messing up my theme and plans. SMH.

He’s so annoying.
My third diagnostic mammogram of the year went well yesterday. There were no significant changes so that was good news. I go back in six months for more testing, just to stay on top of things.

I think something we have to do more of is talk about how kickass a lot of American cities are because right now some people think they’re run by Sharia Law nudists and most of us never thought to counter that argument because it’s stupid and doesn’t make any sense
Went and saw featured artist, @nicholasivins.bsky.social, at Art in the Park today. He’s from San Diego and his art is really cool. Bought a t-shirt from the event with this dog, Oakley, on it (minus all the show and advertising info). It was pretty cool but my leg is sooooo sore now.

Duct tape
First aid kit
Garbage bags
Gloves, disposable and work type
Jump starter
Permanent markers, colors
Towel
I’m adding a Swiss Army knife (Huntsman).

Apparently my dad scheduled the roofers BEFORE scheduling the people who have to remove the solar panels and the people who need to move the Directv satellite receiver. By a week. So this project is going very well so far.

I guess we’re having the roof re shingled soon. What sold my dad? The estimator is Lutheran and he likes baseball. 🙄
