Poor, rural New Mexico, against what “smart” people say is possible, made all childcare free. The governor (female-does this have any bearing?) just put her head down and put a plan in place years ago. And here they are: an entire state with high quality childcare. It can be done.

Well it's not like we have a dysfunctional Congress, we simply don't have a Congress at all.

The majority in both the House and also the Senate has ceded its authority to the executive branch.

Congress is just for show.

Currently (according to Wikipedia) they pay $500-ish/year w onsite care. Anything that causes them to have to visit Walter Reed is billed to US Navy. Also after 5 years, it’s a lifetime benefit.
