To be very clear, that lady in the NYT article is not making any money with her hundreds of AI slop books.
She makes money by *convincing people* she makes money that way and getting them to pay her to teach them how to do it.
It's an evolved MLM, and the NYT is helping market it.

genAI is going to fail for the same reason NFTs, play-to-earn, web3, and the metaverse failed: because it's being sold as an "inevitable future" that you have to put up with and adapt to, rather than, you know, a product you would conceivably want to buy

The most annoying trend in Photography is clients asking for RAW files. When you tell them that there is a difference between RAWs and unedited photo files they tell you 'they know, but they want the RAWs". So you give them the RAWs and then they complain that they can't open them

Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.
