So I literally just saw a post on my local garage sale page about a woman helping a friend look for a home for their 2-year-old dog who they need to get rid of and if they can't find a home immediately they're literally going to put the dog down themselves.... That pissed me off 🔻

This is a flaw in the way capitalists have designed the modern economy, not in us.
"Device hoarding" is GOOD for the environment and for our individual wallets.
"Devices" used to be made to last 10+ years—or lifetimes!

If the AI people were smart, they'd be building their data centers with massive solar panels and could generate all the energy they need without destroying the grid. So far I haven't seen any evidence that they're all that smart, though. I'd bet their AIs could figure this out for them.
