REMEMBERING SOME CFB GAMES: 2024 EDITION

#CFBSky, I have here a list of some ranked vs. ranked games from the 2024 CFB season.

If you see a game you remember and/or attended as a fan, media, marching band, former player, etc., quote skeet that game with your memories of it.

Let's go. 🧵

Looking at the NFC standings made me realize something. There's a damn good chance that of the 3 NFC North teams (Bears, Lions, Packers), whichever two teams for sure get in are likely facing each other in the Wild Card round.

Another thought I just had: If Michigan does beat OSU, are we sure the Wolverines get in? Because if the SEC ends up with 5, then the likely final spot would be between Michigan and Notre Dame, and last I checked, they have a common opponent the Irish beat and Wolverines lost to.

One other thing (not Ole Miss-related): BYU being 11 versus being top 10 is rather huge.

If BYU was a top 10 team, it could maybe still get benefit of the doubt if it lost to TT again in the Big 12 title game (see SMU last year). By staying at 11, the Committee is saying they already aren't in.

Two takeaways after tonight:

1) If Ole Miss wins the Egg Bowl, that decision from him might be late Saturday night in the event A&M and Bama both lose and the Rebels face UGA again in the SEC title game.

2) If Ole Miss loses to CLANGA AND Lane leaves, I think the Rebels get left out, even at 10-2.

Also, if the Hawkeyes win tomorrow against whoever wins this Utah/Grand Canyon game that's about to happen, they should absolutely 100 percent be top 25 next week going into that B1G opener at Breslin.

Gutsy win by Iowa over Ole Miss.

Absolutely not.
Apple pie is bad. This is not really debatable. So is key lime pie, while we’re on the topic. Pecan pie is the 🐐 tho.

O'Connell said it's unclear when the concussion happened. There isn't a hit the team or McCarthy, according to O'Connell, can pinpoint as the cause. He took five sacks in the game, including four in the second half.

J.J. McCarthy reported symptoms to the team and has been placed in the concussion protocol, Kevin O'Connell announced just now.

"Too early" to tell if he'll be available Sunday in Seattle. Max Brosmer will take first-team reps until McCarthy is cleared to return.

@tomgrossi.bsky.social I'm surprised @scootermagruder.bsky.social didn't run around with his shirt off on his stream after that Aubrey FG. 😂

Oh golly Philadelphia sports radio tomorrow will be intense.

Now Philly just needs a FG because Dallas didn't take the FG there.
November 24, 2025 at 12:28 AM
Why didn't Dallas just take the points there to go ahead?

I am nervous as hell about the defense being the get right game for Kevin Patullo because of all the injuries. Saquon, AJ Brown, Devonta. Any of those guys could go off at any moment.
If this version of the Eagles shows up on Friday, I like the Bears’ chances.
November 24, 2025 at 12:24 AM
Oh my. What a break for Dallas.

So what B1G or SEC program will end up with JKS?
SOURCE: Cal has fired head coach Justin Wilcox, @theathletic.com has learned.

The Bears are 6-5 and lost 31-10 to Stanford. (ESPN first reported)

Damn it.

Detroit losing today would be ideal because then if the Lions beat the Packers on Thanksgiving, the Bears would stay alone in first regardless of Friday's outcome in Philly.
November 23, 2025 at 9:16 PM
The Giants are kicking. So if the Lions get a TD, they win.

... What the hell?

Please be useful here, G-Men.
November 23, 2025 at 9:13 PM
8-3 and going to Philly on Black Friday STILL alone in first.
