Hey, if you’re embedding a link on a webpage or in an email or in a document (so, anywhere), make the link longer than one word. “Click here for more information” should be hyperlinked — not just the word “here.” This works better for people with small screens, low vision, or imprecise hands.

That is so awesome! What a incredible lineup!

It's that kind of morning: my phone's stuck on a work profile policies update, my laptop is stuck uninstalling an app, and my desktop mouse is out of batteries. 🙄

I've restarted the devices, got my backup mouse, and am recharging the batteries. Let's see how it goes. #AmNotEditing #edibuddies

The scope of tools available is amazing—I can't wait to try them. Thanks to Christina Laroccco for inviting me 🙏

(You must provide an email to Christina to access the bundle and again to get the download link for my workbook. But it won't sign you up to my newsletter.)

#Copyediting tip: If you've already framed a list as being nonexhaustive, you don't need to end that list with a repetitive "etc."

YES: Examples of great vegetable include zucchini, squash, and pumpkin.

NOPE: Examples of great vegetables include zucchini, squash, pumpkin, and others.

Sluggo does think of himself as a prize, but I’m giving you fair warning that he licked all those gumballs.

My supervisor is asleep on the job. To be fair, he had a big day today: vet visit for vaccines and a blood draw.

An enthusiastic new director of our kids' school told parents to contact the school at a new email account called parentliason@.org 🤦‍♀️ (And I have no idea how it's different from the existing and easy-to-understand parentrelations@.org) #AmNotEditing

I was afraid this might happen but it still feels awful that it's come to pass. Ugh. Thankful to those who preserved the content.
