OPINION: When NATO chief Mark Rutte said that Europe can’t defend itself without the U.S., he positioned himself as the spokesperson of the continent's strategic resignation.
Rutte is wrong about European defense
The NATO chief needs to be promoting a more balanced alliance with a strong European pillar — not undermining it.

Very well articulated. It’s important to hear this in a week when DJT’s drivel is everywhere.
Jack Smith: "My fear is that we have seen the rule of law function in our country for so long that many of us have come to take it for granted. The rule of law is not self-executing. It depends on our collective commitment to apply it."

Malke was seventy-two years old, allowed to travel east with a single suitcase.
"The system was clearly a good one; most of the really bright stars have individual names, but it would be both cumbersome and difficult to find a name for each separate star."
Pick up the nearest book. Turn to page 42, and post the second sentence.

"Walking in the dark and rain across a field, Woolf became rigid with terror."

He’s spot on.
A brilliant speech by Canada's Mark Carney in Davos: "The old order is not coming back. We should not mourn it. Nostalgia is not a strategy...The powerful have their power. But we have something too — the capacity to stop pretending, to name reality, to build our strength at home & to act together."

Great. Grok and X need to be shut down everywhere.
Malaysia and Indonesia become the first countries to block Grok, the artificial intelligence chatbot developed by Elon Musk’s xAI, after authorities said it was being misused to generate sexually explicit and non-consensual images.

I mean, how much more proof does anyone need? X is a cesspool.
One of the top replies under an image on X of Renee Good's body slumped over in her car after an ICE agent shot her is another user asking Grok to put her body in a bikini. Grok then generated the image.

‘Absolute immunity’. This f*cking guy. A bullshitter, and a dangerous one at that.
JD Vance: "The idea that Tim Walz and a bunch of radical are gonna go after and make this guy's life miserable because he was doing the job he was asked to do is preposterous. The unprecedented thing is the idea that a local official can prosecute a federal official with absolute immunity."

Precisely. Some spine needs to be shown, for once.
The relevant law allows for significant fines for companies, and for fines and up to 14 years in prison for directors or officers of companies that commit offences with their consent, connivance or neglect. There's no gap in the law here. X needs to be subject to criminal investigation.

The EU and the Irish government should delete all X accounts immediately. There are no excuses left.
Just seen Grok putting the body of the victim of the ICE shooting in Minneapolis into a bikini. Digital corpse desecration now available to the public.
