These people have already shown total, uncompromising commitment to crashing the plane over and over. Why would they now choose to stop? Particularly Labour, who have until now only been rewarded beyond their wildest dreams for strapping in and pointing the nose of the plane at the mountainside.

The whole Brexit debacle was one huge case study in: If the government completely fucks everyone out of sheer incompetence, will they confess and beg the passengers’ forgiveness? Or will the flight crew lock the cabin door and fly the plane into the ground, so they can keep command of the wreckage.

Great that we've now set up the job market in such a way that it's impossible to get hired for any position without prior experience, the notion of transferable skills no longer exists, and that admin is somehow highly-skilled labour. This can only be a boon to the long-term future of society.

Our upcoming game HORSES was preemptively banned from Steam, with no path to appeal. The game will still launch next week on December 2nd and will be available on EGS, GOG, Humble, and Itch for $4.99. Here is a detailed FAQ covering what happened: horses.wtf/BannedFromSt...

Lol, all the kids in Stranger Things look so done with this shit. I haven't seen an actor so disinterested in their job since Whitney Moore in Birdemic 2

Why the fuck is there a 'Most Anticipated Game' category for the Game of the Year Awards? What an utterly worthless do-nothing accolade

In hindsight, that "cutscenes are gaming's failure state" article from 2008 or so really fucked up a lot of games back in the day

The fall in violent crime is too big to be explained by any single cause, but I've always thought that immigration from cultures where drinking eight pints and getting into a fight isn't seen as a normal way to spend your Saturday night must be a non-trivial part of it.

The original Dawn of the Dead is quite charming 50 years later - everyone clearly pulls their punches and every zombie who gets shot makes sure to fall down very carefully so they don't hurt themselves

The Rose Field is like a latter Iain Banks novel - hundreds of pages of aimlessness to set up an abrupt and underwhelming conclusion. Disappointing.

Rewatching Taboo (2017) and it's very refreshing to watch a drama in which no one tells a single joke.

Scream (1996) - "Our friend was murdered! Who would do something so awful?"

Scream (2022) - "Someone tried to murder our friend! Lol, one of us probably did it!"

The fucking state of writing these days. This planet deserves the abyss.

Like, a lot of online discourse feels like fan fiction about real people, both public figures and not. Posters exchanging head canons about their goals, motivations, and inner lives.

No, I'm sure it's fine long-term that 80% of everything I see on job websites is either obviously a scam or looks like a scam, that there are no entry level jobs for any industry or field, or that people are expected to fund their own training with jobs they can't get without training

These people couldn’t have been more clear that they think not liking them is radicalisation; being angry with them for things they’ve done and said is extremism; asking them unwelcome questions is bullying and harassment, and raising your voice at them is criminal assault.

Yes, it does! Racism isn't just something you think, it's something you do! And no one who isn't a racist would support a racist policy! Words mean things!
