Just watched a Twitch streamer at the LA protests all day and I can tell you as a witness, it is 100% the cops doing the "agitating". They started deploying tear gas and rubber bullets VERY early on in the day. Yet, despite being surrounded by thousands of protestors, the only time he ever felt in any sort of danger was when the cops pushed in and/or shot at protestors. While trying to find a bathroom at one point, he discovered that the LAPD had blocked off most paths into/out of the protest area but he found a way to exit and stopped at Little Tokyo and had some ice cream. It was pretty normal and quiet there, just a couple blocks away. That's how non-violent it actually was. Despite pictures of burning Waymo cars, or graffiti, or "scary masked rioters" you may see.. People were not harming people. A highly diverse, and largely Latino, population is angry and afraid that their supposed "sanctuary city" is collaborating with ICE to abduct their people in mass raids and is now using force against them for protesting against that betrayal. The LA mayor and California governor should be ashamed! CHINGA LA MIGRA!
