Right now? For going back to the EU? Perhaps not. But I did have options to stay at my Uni 15yrs ago, and the person who filled my job is still there, on a permanent contract.

I would have 100% figured it out.

You won't notice those, is my guess. Those are the international postdocs/PhDs who now choose to go back to Europe/China/... instead of taking positions at the flaghsips.
Much of the US brain drain is going to be a lack of brain gain.

Libraries are infrastructure. Perhaps the best amenity of the home we bought was that it is within a block from the library - that opens up so much.

How big of an issue is this inside normal homes? My VOx etc levels are pretty low (except perhaps the kitchen unit), and the filters inside the heat pumps seem to remain pretty clean.

Even Adam Smith himself believed in guardrails to keep capitalism in check. The US is the only nation that tried it without (twice). Failed 120 years ago, and that was with Carnegie being kind enough to give some money back to the public.
