En zonder al te diep op financien in te gaan, het journal waar ik voor edit (Atmospheric Chemistry & Physics) heeft een APC onder de 2k, maar nagenoeg gratis voor armere instituten. Wat dan nog overblijft gaat naar de prof. org. (EGU).
Maar wil wel een onderscheid maken tussen predatory publishers met absurde fees, en Open Access journals die alleen hun kosten verhalen, en vaak gelieerd zijn aan een professionele society.

Heat pumps work just fine in the cold.
It did become slightly less efficient (~10% or so), but I'm confident it can handle any winter Cleveland would get.

Het stomme is natuurlijk dat het vroegah niet gepoliticeerd was, en dat het helemaal niet zo duur hoeft te wezen om flinke stappen te maken.
