I am not exaggerating when I say ICE functions as a terrorist organization in the Twin Cities. The goal seems to be to harass and frighten people (the ones who are lucky enough to not be abducted, at least) and it's deeply unsettling when you learn they're in your neighborhood.

hard to imagine a more irritating way to market soccer to Americans than this. the entire Men In Blazers approach is based on the stupid, wrong idea that no one like soccer in America until well off white Americans started watching it when NBC got the rights in 2013

MIB has talked down to their audience from day one and it sucks they've convinced a lot of Americans the only way to be an authentic soccer fan is to cosplay English fandom.

State of the Union: The capture of Maduro was basically the political version of a well-timed slide tackle. It’s messy, it’s controversial, there’s blood, but if it stops the other team from scoring you do it. People complaining about legality are wimps. Peace is winning.

Riqui Puig is one of the best players in MLS, but that's not the whole story to his stardom. He's one of the most fun too. His style + passion. An easy fan favorite.

Injury news sucks. Hopefully he'll be back to 100% before we know it
BREAKING: LA Galaxy star Riqui Puig will undergo knee surgery and his status for 2026 is in question, per sources.

Same knee from torn ACL at end of 2024 which kept him out all of 2025.

Brutal, brutal news for one of the league's best players. www.nytimes.com/athletic/693...

I've seen some confusion over Justin Haak accepting a 1-year FA deal from the Galaxy instead of taking a longer, guaranteed deal from NYCFC. And unfortunately you kind of need to be an MLS CBA sicko to understand all the math at play here.

Gonna try to break it down for you 1/x

A growing body of research indicates that Texas's restrictive abortion bans have negatively impacted the health and lives of Texas women and babies in multiple ways. Across the board, pregnancy outcomes and complications have worsened.
What researchers have discovered about maternal, infant health under Texas' abortion laws
In the more than four years since the state of Texas significantly restricted access to abortion, medical researchers have been studying the health effects of that policy change.

Heist by Nashville.
More details on the trade: Nashville will receive a total of $1m in GAM (@tombogert.bsky.social 1st) – $500k in 2026, $500k in 2027, as well as retaining a sell-on percentage in a future deal. Good return for Nashville, who acquired him for $300,000.

Was curious to see what Kuntz would do in his first year finally free of any and all bad Klein contracts (at least I think they are all gone). This is a great first step if we get the deal across the line. I think he will pair well with Garces.

Turns out “Sit back, never move the ball, only pass to the fast guy” doesn’t work great against good teams.

I'm much more of a "team goal" guy than an "individual banger" guy but this shit's stayed with me for 15 years.

Still my favorite thunderbastard in MLS history. Has a level of intentionality to it that few goals have ever matched.

What a player, what a career.

Stuff might actually happen and the Senate could no longer cynically block badly needed reforms you say? Oh and the GOP might actually have to govern instead of just block everything they don't like in perpetuity?!
Johnson: "If they had no filibuster, they would pack the SCOTUS. You'd go from 9 to 17 or however many liberals they could pack. You would make DC & Puerto Rico into states, which would give 4 additional Democrat senators & make us a permanent minority. You'd see massive restrictions of 2A rights"

Go from 9 to 18 and the longest-tenured justice retires every two years. Single 18-year terms.

Every president gets to appoint two, the make-up of the court is always evolving, and you avoid having justices who are too young or too old.

The ICE agents deploying these are people without necessary training, those who couldn’t cut it in police training or didn’t want to join the military.

They are in this to hurt people and play Call of Duty on our streets, deploying chemical weapons on our neighbors as if they’re pressing L1.
Remaining feds left the scene in a large caravan, deploying more tear gas straight into the crowd - and right at my feet - as they left.

Interesting that there’s a certain faction of American soccer fan that says they don’t watch MLS because they only want to watch the best football, and yet they don’t watch the Brasileirão but instead choose to wake up at 7:30am to watch Wolverhampton Wanderers. Curious.

Paul's not wrong from a competition standpoint, as MLS has to keep improving roster construction, but the #CanMNT started 3 defenders and a GK from MLS and shut out the defending AFCON champions. And their 2 bright spots in attack play in MLS

All to say that the USMNT's struggles run deeper
I'll dig in more on this at a later date, but we also have to acknowledge the shortcomings of some of MLS's best Americans last night.

In the coming weeks, MLS will weigh changes to its future format. Last night should be a part of the discussion. Steps must be taken to drive the league's quality.
