Incredibly charmed people were doing this nearly 100 years ago but I've also gotten this occassionally on my art and stories and it makes my day every time. Incredibly silly but the raw earnestness of it... one of the best compliments one can recieve imo

I know there was better representation to be found but, as a kid in the 90s, I didn't have means to find them.

Panel 1 the first caption reads "The only elder queer representation I remember growing up was the Birdcage." The illustration depicts Robin Williams and Nathan Lane with arrows pointing to them that say 44 and 39. The second caption reads "And the other representation I got to see was interesting." What follow is a grid of characters from various movies.
