Oh gosh lots of new folks. Hi, I’m Holly! I work in comics, play games of varying kinds, and I read a lot. I am a tall gremlin, a moderately socially acceptable swamp witch, a hoodie made sentient.

Also, I make art with bones and stuff. Here are some old pieces in varying stages! I should do more.

If you'd like some good news on AI, the last few weeks have seen execs across multiple industries strive to hide AI usage labeling on their products because, as many of us have said FOR YEARS, the audience that *doesn't* want AI is substantial and we will reject your product whole hog for using it.

“I don’t need them to like me” is both so important to internalize and so difficult to actually feel, especially when people liking you is sort of a key component in how society weighs whether you’re gonna survive the winter (literally and metaphorically speaking).

"Groundhog Day (1993)," "The Crow: City of Angels (1996)," and, perhaps most importantly, "Howard the Duck (1986)" all initially offered their female lead parts to renowned singer-songwriter Tori Amos. In my America,
If you were a despotic president, what movie would you force Hollywood to make? I want to see Quentin's Star Trek movie or maybe Kill Bill Vol 3.

I also have a restock of my Signs of Night divination cloth. I don't talk enough about how I love making divination tools, this comes with a guide and three stones to use for casting. Linoleum print on cotton cloth.

hey so if you’re not feeling well, please don’t go into work. if you have to, wear a mask. tbh wear a mask either way—it’s four days after thanksgiving. covid incubation time tends to be ~3-5 days. it’s peak get infected if you aren’t already time.

test for it. get paxlovid.
prevent it. mask up.

I constantly think about this Brad Bird quote I can’t find right now about “don’t phone it in because if you got sloppy on a certain scene due to deadlines, you can’t be at every screening explaining that to the audience” idk man you do you but whatever you do have intent with it, people notice
I’m not trying to be rude but I’m not happy about “you’re just one artist—don’t draw backgrounds!” Cmon homie

Don’t skimp on the background. That’s part of the comic! Don’t skimp on anything! Just draw slower! That’s where you give yourself the grace. Don’t half ass your comic

Even by the standards of anti-woke journalism this is lazy dreck. The first piece of "evidence" that older gamers are mad about wokeness is a random Reddit comment — that isn't a complaint about wokeness.

talking about this with peers. a couple of things:
1) who produced this "dub?" amazon or aniplex or someone else?
2) who worked on it? someone had to engineer it. what software was used? there is ONE LINE of info, haha.

also, if I were a news outlet, I'd be reaching out to aniplex for comment.
Hey just so you know Amazon decided to give us an AI ENGLISH DUB of Banana Fish instead of actually hiring real voice actors
it is fucking hot garbage

The article is well worth a read; this information would never have come to light were it not for Steam's AI disclosure policy, and the game looks to be a rushed cash grab not involving Grasshopper studio.

This is why CEOs dont like AI disclosures, they want to be able to discreetly serve slop
The Let it Die sequel - Let it Die: Inferno - which is coming out next week (4th December), seems to have been built using a considerable amount of generative AI. https://bit.ly/4ol7lIA

genuinely think we have a moral obligation to be rude & cruel to scammers and grifters. they prey on ppl's manners and politesse and inability to say no. call it when you see it even if it makes you uncomfortable. right now they are being rewarded at all time highs & they need to be shaken
