Make no mistake. Every politician, pundit & online grifter amplifying Musk's dangerous lies will be aware of this intervention by now. Make no mistake, they are choosing to mislead the public & politicise the suffering of victims in the shameful pursuit of political advantage, attention & clicks.

Sad to hear the news about Jimmy Carter but what an amazing life. I was lucky to meet him in 1986 when I was in a student production of Hamlet. He was charming, funny & down to earth. #RIPJimmyCarter

How any Tory can whine about Labour's fiscal prudence after supporting this is beyond me.

In July, I FOI'd the Home Office for the full breakdown of spending on the Rwanda scheme

I was refused because the government planned to publish the data in future, and today is the day. These numbers are in millions

So it turns out they spent £715 million on sending a grand total of FOUR volunteers to Rwanda.

For comparison, this is more than you could expect to spend on building an entire brand new hospital in the UK

Merger plans that would create England’s second-biggest multi-academy trust are due to be decided next month – by a board its chair sits on and with its chief executive already in charge of the other chain

Not only is this a great & innovative school (with great people) but they share what they find works & support other schools.
Keep up the good work!

So much great and innovative work going on in many schools.
Really important that we share and network: the positives and the lessons learned.

Rishi Sunak and his wife avoiding public scrutiny by changing their company to 'unlimited'... just as David Cameron did ...

Seems to be a pattern with Tory Prime Ministers eh?

I wonder why..... hmmmmmmmm
russellscott1.bsky.social
👀Is Rishi Sunak trying to avoid public scrutiny?

He just switched his new company “The office of Akshata Murty and Rishi Sunak” from a limited company to an “unlimited” company.

This means he no longer has to make his company accounts public 👀⤵️

I’m afraid we should not trust OfSTED at all. In fact I think the only way is to abolish them & start again. There are too many who were part of the brutal regime that led to lives being destroyed.

Ofsted’s response to Ruth Perry’s death appeared 'defensive and complacent' and the watchdog must move away from the discourse that 'inspectors are never wrong', a damning review has found

Despite @ofstednews.bsky.social saying they have changed I am afraid I remain unconvinced that the ‘culture’ will change. I hope I am wrong.
Ofsted defensive and complacent after Ruth Perry's death - review
One of many criticisms is that the regulator did not tell all its staff what had happened to Ruth Perry.

It is a step in the right direction until the report card system is implemented next year.
This is a government working with the profession & not against it.

I've been wary from the off about the removal of single-word judgements, just because it could always be a frying pan > fire moment.
I remain wary, and can now add 'frustrated' to my views. I presume this was seen as an easy win, but a more important win would have been respecting the profession.

Some good people on this, if a little MAT heavy. However Jon Hutchinson was, I believe, part of the core group which developed the ECT framework. Many people, including myself, believe that it is utterly flawed & a huge missed opportunity.

Labour want to change Ofsted.

How can they go into a school year with a system they know isn’t right and causes distress and anxiety?

Pause inspections for a year, reflect on Big Listen, consult, rewrite, and pilot. Launch in Sept 2025. Safeguarding inspections only this year.
