Arsenal (especially WFC), baseball (especially Blue Jays), Gotham FC, Music (especially, but not always twangy, mostly guitar driven), Star Trek, board games, stationary (especially fountain pens), left political economy. He/Him.
Ah the rare Ben White ("Ben White!") start and I'm so bogged down in end of term admin tasks that I doubt I'll be able to watch.

If only there had been a series of clues that May was an incompetent buffoon that absolutely loves the Liberals who's best buy date for politics passed more than a decade ago, we all would not be so surprised at how easily she was duped.

Had a really tough weekend. One of my cats got quite ill, and we were in the emergency vet for Saturday night into early Sunday morning. She's got vestibular disease. She is on the road to recovery but it could be more than a month until she's fully back. She's doing better now!

Corruption at Fifa used to be the shameless, amateurish activity of men who liked cigars, brandy and five-star hotels. Under Infantino it has been turbocharged with the grotesque aim of making Fifa's president a global statesman.

‘He massages Trump’s basest instincts’: why is Fifa’s Gianni Infantino cosying up to the US president?
For a man who insists football isn’t political, the Fifa boss is putting a lot of effort into into courting the most divisive politician on Earth

Also, I was acclaimed during re-election for my position as a departmental steward in my union. Which makes me happy.

Re last post (the Athletic article). What has been consistently frustrating to me (and lots of others!) has been the young talent that leaves after getting no playing time, and probably watching that happen, again, this year. The team sheet is the same, the subs are the same, it's not good.

What’s going wrong for Arsenal’s Champions League winners?
After being crowned champions of Europe in May, this was supposed to be Arsenal's season. But it isn't working out like that

i think tech and ai positive people are going to be in for a big shock when anti tech and anti ai sentiment becomes a major part of leftwing politics going forward especially as datacenters continue to destroy communities and raise electricity bills
Is this platform still massively against AI or has it moved more towards acceptance?

Gooner pals, my brother is in London right now. If he was to go to an Arsenal pub tomorrow to watch the game, so I can live vicariously through him, where should he go?

Trudeau-era foreign policy was feminist only in the neoliberal sense where empowerment came through capital and individualist “boot-straps” mentality. Nothing was prioritized in changing the system for women as a class. Carney decided even that was too much.

@straczynski.bsky.social Hi Mr Stracynski.

I said this to you a while ago but with recent events I feel it's once again important to state that I really loved Bablyon 5. But I much preferred it when it was conspiratorial and paranoid not prescient to the point of wondering if you had a time machine
