I feel like the stuff people are putting in alt text should just be the caption, it almost never actually describes what the image is depicting.

So I’m reading articles about the national guard shooting and they seem to be using the words “troop” and “soldier” interchangeably
When they say they are adding 500 troops, is that 500 people?
I always thought a troop was a group of people, I don’t know, maybe like 20 or something folks.
