If you support mass deportation, I will not consider you worthy of civility. I don't care. I don't want to hear your excuses or reasons. I don't want to hear your opinion on anything at all, actually. You have no humanity.

The Qatari government has given Jared Kushner $5B over the last several years, and given Trump a luxury airliner.

Corruption out in the open.

EXCLUSIVE — DHS Acting General Counsel sent out a memo Wednesday to all Federal Protective Service staff (the sub-agency that guards federal buildings) letting officers know they could take any action necessary "in the vicinity" federal property to protect themselves.

The Handbasket reports:
DHS top lawyer says 'no legal barrier' to actions officers can take to defend federal property
In a memo obtained exclusively by The Handbasket, Federal Protective Service (FPS) officers were given free rein.

Trump just threatened to impose severe, unprecedented tariffs on Chinese imports. He won’t negotiate with Xi at the upcoming APEC summit, choosing to sink the global economy. The Dow is already down 300 points. This will devastate American small businesses and cause your expenses to skyrocket.

I visited Eastport about twenty years ago, when it was right on the edge of serious decline and revitalization.

I feel like welcoming cruise ships to boost the economy is akin to welcoming a federal prison.

An economic faustian bargain so to speak.

I'm at the scene where ICE abducted multiple people from Lincoln and Foster this morning.

A WGN producer was among the people taken, allegedly because she was among a group of bystanders who tried to intervene. ICE agents hit this car while making their getaway.

The House Majority Whip is also insisting that a peaceful "No Kings" demonstration is in fact a "hate America rally" held for the "terrorist wing" of the Democratic Party.

Really feels like they're trying to manifest a violent reaction to it.

ICE kept most offices open during the shutdown, but not the one that inspects detention facilities. DHS has deemed inspections "non-essential" despite an ongoing surge in deaths in ICE detention—at least 17 people have died this fiscal year, one of the deadliest years for ICE detainees in 2 decades.
More than 56,397 migrants were in immigration detention as of mid-June, or about 140 percent of the agency’s ostensible capacity to hold them.

“These are the worst conditions I have seen in my 20-year career,” Paul Chavez, litigation and advocacy director at Americans for Immigrant Justice in Florida, recently told The New York Times. “Conditions were never great, but this is horrendous.” The Office of Detention Oversight, responsible for inspecting ICE detention centers, has temporarily closed during the government shutdown, as reported by The Washington Post. This closure, deemed non-essential by the Department of Homeland Security, raises concerns about the humane treatment and living conditions of over 60,000 migrants held in these facilities, many of which already face overcrowding.
