I spent some hours with Diablo 2. I really tried to do it. It doesn't pull me in like 1 and 3 did. I don't see in it what (seemingly) everybody else does. The core gameplay loop is pretty good. But I don't know how many times I can do this many different basements with the same walls.

Lesson of the year is, under no circumstances should you ever try to save money getting secondhand NAS drives. They usually got a lot of hours on them already. I should have known this.
Sweating. The two drives failed at the same time and I am so lucky that the failures happened in a way such that I can still use the other two to get the data off. I’m not having good luck with technology this month…

Getting Pop'n Music support with the Djmain exporter didn't take a lot of work at all- seems the format is pretty much the same as Beatmania. The game soundtrack renderer was like "I got dis" and ate Pop'n 3 in about 23 seconds.

Finding all manner of cool things about the 5-key Beatmania games tonight, mostly related to the sound playback. There's a sound priority system in there I wasn't aware of! The chart designers could set some sounds to a lower priority so that the foreground/longer ones could keep playing.

Agile at its core is great. That said, while every company out there seems to say “we do agile”, no company can seem to beat the “Scrum only serves as job security for middle management” allegations

It’s said there is support for the UA-101 audio interface in the Linux kernel but it really does not seem to work out of the box and I’m unsure how exactly to remedy this. Kinda wish the box had a generic driver mode like the UA-25 does. That box works great in generic mode specifically.
