Since 2011 fuel duty freeze has cost the Treasury a whopping £133bn and added to yet more climate emissions. Freezing it yet again is reckless & irresponsible #budget2025

Raiding the Warm Homes Plan to find the money for a one-off cut to energy bills is utterly perverse when the Plan exists precisely to insulate homes & thus keep bills lower in perpetuity- this simply isn’t serious #budget2025

'Lord Dubs told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme: “There is a proper case for children, there is a proper case for family reunion when there are children who are on their own,” and he said that “to use children as a weapon as the home secretary is doing I think is a shabby thing”'
Asylum changes seek to use children as a weapon, says Labour peer Alf Dubs
Dubs, who was a child refugee, says Shabana Mahmood’s ‘shabby’ plans will increase community tensions

Great British Railways!? 👇
In the Netherlands, we have the OV-fiets system, seamlessly connecting bike rental to train travel. On small stations, there's a bike rental 'vending machine'. Scan your public transport card, and it offers you a bike. On returning the bike, the machine asks if it was in good condition. Brilliant!

Today’s episode of “there is a better way.” Helsinki went a full year without a car-related fatality. For the 90th million time, we ask-why not here? Why can’t we have the healthy, safe, secure, efficient, civilized goods others have: schools free of mass shootings, safe sidewalks, health care…
Helsinki just went a full year without a single traffic death
The capital city is Finnish’ed with car-related fatalities.

More over Troy and Ireland, Amir Al-Ammari is here!! Absolutely scenes in Basra! Think they still have another play off to get through but imagine the happiness and hope given to the nation of Iraq just now! If they do qualify and I was king of the world I'd move the tournament from the US to Iraq!

If you think the Ireland celebrations were big imagine if Iraq finds a winner in the next ten mins against UAE! Just seen a vid of their equaliser and amazing scenes inside the 65k capacity stadium in Basra! Incredible to see a city and people rise out of the ashes of US and UK destruction

A Government of cowards.

Rather than tackle inequality - they've gone for pensioners, disabled people and now it's people fleeing war and persecution.

They can't get away with this.

The Greens don’t believe providing safe refuge for endangered asylum seekers is an “out-of-control” policy.

Nor do we believe making life more difficult for those in need is the way to unify British society.

Refugees are welcome.

Every week I get a bit prouder of myself for voting Green at the last election. Even though I was a Labour member at the time! Wish they'd proven me wrong but at every turn Starmer and Labour have ballsed it up. Very hard to achieve TBH.

Asked if Keir Starmer believes British people want to "see refugee children pulled out of school and deported after 10 years in this country”, his spokesman says that “what the British public wants and what this government was elected on a mandate to deliver was to secure our borders"

Whoever invented cyclocross has a lot to answer for. Hopefully my son has done his last cross race today (for a good while) and I can sell his bikes! So much faff, time, energy and expense for 40 minutes of sport! and I love all sport! Maybe I'm just allergic to mud.

This ladies and gentlemen is why we love sport and football. Miraculous. 5 goals in 4 days for Troy Parrott keeps the Irish World Cup dream alive!! The owners, FIFA, EFL, UEFA and Premier League can try and ruin it and steel the magic with their greed but the beautiful game always wins out. Limbs.
Troy Parrott. Echos of Robbie Keane's goal against Germany in 2002. What a moment. #COYBIG 🇮🇪

The #EFL and #SkySports yet again putting fans last by moving Rovers away games away to Ipswich and Norwich to early kick offs! 🤦‍♂️
Putting money first and fan experience last yet again. Just about doable on train but any delays and miss start of game
