funny how the man who cost the Washington Post hundreds of thousands in subscriptions by canceling the paper's presidential endorsement—almost certainly the most destructive decision in the history of the paper, if not journalism itself—still has his job

If Jeff Bezos could afford to spend $75 million on the Melania movie & $500 million for a yacht to sail off to his $55 million wedding to give his wife a $5 million ring, please don't tell me he needed to fire one-third of the Washington Post staff.

WM-Boykott?

While painting a dire picture of the state of the US gov (one that would make you think it's going down soon), I'm afraid I can't share the optimism within (that the gov will just crumble once these scenarios really play out).

They'll cling to power.

Life in Minnesota is terrifying right now, but every day I feel amazed by watching us wake up and go fuck with these absolute losers. Minnesota is going to annoy the regime to death and upon the graves of the fascists we'll erect a statue to Barb the librarian who ran dispatch.
Small thread.
I was driving up to @makwacoffee.bsky.social bc I knew Roseville (a suburb next to St Paul) was lousy w/ ICE. 1/2 mile away I drive past an ICE agent, so I flip around (following every traffic law) & enter a lot where there were 5-6 ICE vehicles & probably 8 observer cars.

Who amongst us hasn't made a list of countries you want to take over and then forgotten what order you put them in
Trump is now confusing Greenland and Iceland: "They're not there for us on Iceland, that I can tell you. Our stock market took the first dip yesterday because of Iceland. So Iceland has already cost us a lot of money."

There is only one way to cover this Trump speech at Davos:

Batshit crazy

Yes there were sentences that made sense, and yes many ‘greatest hits’ but please global media, do not sanewash this, do not call it enigmatic etc.

Trump is dangerous to this planet and its inhabitants.

Till now, the EU and NATO approach to Trump has followed by pattern of a parent constantly trying to placate a toddler to avoid a complete melt down.

I understand why they thought it was worth a try, but now that toddler has become a spoiled little brat who attacks others. Time for firmer action.

No one can be watching this Davos speech and reach any conclusion but that the President of the United States is mentally disturbed and that something is deeply wrong with him. This is both embarrassing and extremely dangerous.

The only valid response by the EU to this must be: #FuckOff.

Can you be any more specific?

Anyone not taking Trump seriously on his annexation plans of any other country, has been asleep in both history classes and during the last months.

It needs a strong European answer.
In advance of meeting with European leaders at Davos, Trump posted an image on Truth Social of him meeting with them with a map in the background depicting Canada, Greenland, and Venezuela as parts of the US.

The image is an altered version of a photograph of a meeting at the White House in August.
