@davidgerard.co.uk Now here‘s a thought:
Richtig: Wissenschaftliche Forschung.

We're three years in this so-called revolution, and even though it's free, "AI" still has to be forced upon people to have users at all. Every single company in the "AI" space loses money hand over fist.

"AI" is nothing like the Internet or smartphones. These were economically viable from day one.
In 2025, AI became pervasive in American life and the economy, with ChatGPT surging in adoption much faster than any other major technology in memory. @nytopinion.nytimes.com

also designing and writing code is the fun part. make an AI that goes chasing down half a dozen stakeholders and gets them to agree on requirements or something.

iRobot apparently just declared bankruptcy, so if you have an internet connected one and want to retain control if the cloud platform vanishes, take a look at https://github.com/koalazak/dorita980#how...

Rewatched some Star Trek tonight.
Still wild how a show about warp drives and weird nebulae ends up teaching the cleanest lessons about being human.
Every episode says the same thing in its own way:
‘Be curious. Be brave.

It's #AdventOfCode again, and again I'm (re-)implementing my solutions in my favorite niche JS framework #Ramda.js - if I have the time (well, and the mental capacity).

I think day 6 came out quite nicely.

Going by the news headlines (IRS paying TurboTax to integrate ChatGPT! Nuclear roll-out to be sped up by using AI to design reactors!) we are *well* into the pets.com phase of the bubble at this point, ie. throw random shit at the wall and see if it sticks. Spoiler: it won't.

It's what I call "middle management proliferation."

They are meant to protect and create middle management positions in corporate environments. Management *loves* to create more management, that's why these things are so successful.

Today I have closed an internal email with „Regards,“ for the first time in my professional life, in a mid-conversation switch from my usual „Kind regards“.

The other person dropped to no greeting and no closing in their response, so they noticed.

Bring it on, you won‘t have fun with me this way 😃
