Edinburgh based Partick Thistle fan. Member of the anti-growth coalition. I like football, beer, books, & active travel. Do a bit of gardening too.
Presumably he'd sing it ragtime style while wearing blackface if he wanted to do that
What an interesting choice of words

Still going to the US World Cup?
ICE detained Katie, a British woman in the final stages of her green card process, while she was holding her 6 month old son.

She’s married to an American and was following the process, yet at her last immigration meeting they grabbed her.

She’s been detained ever since:

I wish I didn’t have to share this. But the BBC has decided to censor my first Reith Lecture.

They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1

Such a shame that funding cuts are affecting many of Edinburgh's small scale wellbeing projects. I know that these activities are of great help to participants.
Due to a lack of continued funding, we completed our final walk with our Redhall group. We thank each and every walker for turning up in all kinds of weather, making everyone feel welcome and for their adventurous spirit.

Labour's anti-asylum policies are already fundamentally inhumane and discriminatory. Applying them retrospectively is pure cruelty though. It serves absolutely no purpose. Meanwhile it will increase the costs and bureaucracy of an already dysfunctional Home Office.

Stolpersteine are amazing wee things. Last year in Bamberg, N Bavaria, we walked along a street where the position of every house (not all were still houses) had multiple pavement plaques. Probably Jewish familes forced to live together before eventual removal to the camps.
In 1932 Jane Haining took on the role of matron at the Scottish Mission School in Budapest, which had about 400 pupils, a mixture of Jews and Christians. She helped keep the children safe until she was betrayed and arrested by German officers in April 1944. #Edinburgh

Utterly grim. Hopefully this is taken seriously by the relevant authorities.

So today's football was quite fun. Still buzzing to be honest.

While I'm not quite at the point of losing my house, the harm ai has done to my animation work income is huge, like 80% gone and it makes me wonder how many freelance artists and animators ARE losing everything while billionaire con men continue to rake it in.

Compare and contrast the Government language.

£3,750 EV grant on a £35k car: ‘helping families’.

Cycle to Work: ‘subsidising leisure’.

And yet cycling delivers TEN TIMES the impact of electric cars for reaching net zero. It’s almost like narrative, not data, is driving policy.

Odd how Farage was doing similar stuff at the same time, but I am totally 100% sure Farage was doing it for free.

Exactly.
Having Johnson & Cummings in Downing Street when Covid struck was, just like Brexit, an entirely avoidable disaster caused largely by utterly appalling journalism. And now exactly the same clowns, arses & bigots with bylines are rolling out the red carpet for Farage.

We're missing what's happening elsewhere due to our self generated migrant hysteria. See also ongoing killings in Gaza and the West Bank, and the dreadful war in Sudan.

I'm a casual observer, at best, of our Scottish national football team. But last night I went to bed after watching the game on the telly, and there was adrenaline almost audibly roaring through my veins. No chance of sleep until after midnight.
